Potential TESU September Graduation Advice? - scoriae - 06-25-2017 Somewhat of a time-sensitive issue, and I am not entirely certain if it is feasible. I believe I can finish all of the required courses needed for graduation by early July. I understand that the deadline to apply for graduation is no later than July 1. The catch happens in that I am registered for the June TECEP Start, which means I am originally supposed to aim for the December graduation period and not the September. The question then becomes, is it still feasible for me to try and shoot for the September graduation given the above? I understand there is no guarantee I will be able to finish all of my classes, or to do successfully in the specified period, but I am confident in doing so and the earlier graduation is of importance on my end if possible due to work-related reasons. If anyone had advice regarding this, it would be very much appreciated. Potential TESU September Graduation Advice? - Aurelius - 06-25-2017 Go ahead and apply. If you finish the classes you'll graduate. If not, the graduation fees push back automatically to December and you're no worse off. Apply as late as possible so that your audit is last. When I applied for June graduation the deadline for all the stuff was April 1st. I didn't turn everything in until I want to say May 15th. It was stressful for sure a lot of it was emailing back and forth between CSU global and Thomas Edison and then emailing Dawn in the graduation office every day. I'm sure she got sick of me by the end. So point of the story go ahead and apply. Also the graduation office didn't reach out to me until maybe May 3rd. So you'll definitely have at least a month before they try and do the first audit. So as long as you are finishing your final class or two by August you should be good Also if you haven't already digital marketing at study.com came in under GM and CIS Upper level AOS. Super easy class that can be knocked out in two days And the two upper level teex courses gave me 4 free credits And lol one more thing if you take a study.com course you would be eligible for the 1800 residency waiver partnership Potential TESU September Graduation Advice? - scoriae - 06-25-2017 Thank you. I think ill toss in my application for graduation. If I am understanding this correctly, there is no actual financial downside if my graduation is pushed back to the following graduation period in December, would this be correct? My Signature is slightly deceiving; I actually have about half the classes remaining, but haven't moved the completed ones yet since I am pending submission of reports, speeches, etc. I don't anticipate issues in this aspect, but I didn't want to get ahead of myself either (which is ironic given that I am looking towards graduation already...) I finished the CIS AOS and only have 2 classes left for the General Management AOS, one of which will be Principles of Sales, and the other one hopefully Corporate Finance, or if not, I will go with the Study.com Digital Marketing! Thank you for the suggestion as well Potential TESU September Graduation Advice? - bjcheung77 - 06-25-2017 Perfect advice from the two before me, I would also suggest to apply since you get everything done in one swoop. If it's not complete, they'll just place you in the next graduation cycle. There's no downside, I could think of either. Even if you don't finish by the time you apply, you can inform them you're doing X course and you're almost done. Potential TESU September Graduation Advice? - scoriae - 06-25-2017 Happy Happy, Joy Joy! Excited but scared at the same time! Potential TESU September Graduation Advice? - dfrecore - 06-25-2017 Also, the TECEP is treated (by TESU) as if you're not going to "finish" it until the end of the term. Since you can take it any time after the start of the term, you could get that final grade into them well before you needed it for graduation. So their timeframe is a little off when it comes to treating the TECEP as if it was the capstone course. Potential TESU September Graduation Advice? - rlw74 - 06-26-2017 Definitely apply. You'll get that first audit letter listing everything you need. Don't panic if it says you don't meet the criteria. They give you an email address and if you finish before they turn files over to the committee in August they'll do your second audit once your course work is in. If you go past August though they'll bump your file. However, even then you can still email/call and probably get it pushed through if the committee isn't finished reviewing everyone else. I imagine it's a slow process and lots of people will be rushing at the last minute. Potential TESU September Graduation Advice? - scoriae - 06-26-2017 I sent an email to Admissions to add the Study.com affiliation to the account, hoping they add it as soon as possible for me to throw (less) cash at them come Friday. Thank you all for the encouraging advice. I just need to buckle down and grind out the rest in due time. |
