Pell Grants - Collegelady2 - 06-01-2017

How do Pell grants work if I'm wanting to do some courses at community college? I've already used them before how do I show I'm making progress? Do I have to transfer all my credits that are sitting at TESU to the community college?

The Federal Student Aid site says that each school sets the requirements for sufficient progress (GPA, etc).

Most colleges will make you send transcripts of all your credits.

Really thats horrible I don't want to send any more transcripts literally want to take a semester or 2 of classes thru our local community college system and finish this up. 15-20 credits worth of in person classes was what I was wanting to do.

If I recall correctly, if you want to receive any financial aid, you have to be a degree-seeking student. When you're a degree-seeking student, you usually have to send all of your transcripts.

You do, or some certificates count for Pell Grants too.

How many transcripts do you have? You wouldn't have any obligation to send ACE, CLEP, etc.. as they aren't actual colleges. Just TESU and whatever other schools you have.

Correct, and you must be Degree seeking for an associates degree, certificates are not eligible for Pell.

I have courses from 3 colleges. In total about 80 credits TESU was able to apply about 60 of them to my degree I am working on.

I have seen schools saying specific certificates are, but maybe they had an error on their website.

You'll be eligible up to 90 credits at a CC. Try to squeeze in those last 10.
