Where are all my business majors at?! So I am currently taking my capstone course through my Uni even though I still have 4 classes left to graduate. The capstone course's main emphasis is on a program called Capsim. Capsim is a business building simulation designed to help students make real world business decisions. Students work with millions of dollars and cover things such as R&D,Marketing, Production, Human resources, and Financing. It's very interesting, however our grade is heavily dependent on how well our business does ie: profits, contribution margins, stock prices, forecasting, debt, shareholders, etc. Just curious has anyone else ever dealt with Capsim before? It's sort of fun once you get the hang of it. Oh also you have to work in teams so i have frequent Zoom meetings with other members when making decisions.

I have used something similar (SAP ERP Simulation) for a grad level Marketing Management course a few months ago. The simulation was easy to use and navigate. It won't take you long at all to learn the system. The challenge was the instructor for the course made us work in groups. The class had 6 groups (5 students each). 5 individuals with 5 different perspectives. I *hate* group projects in distance learning!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
My team ended up in second place so I guess we did ok.
Each team competed for the "number one" spot on a weekly basis.
Once roles are assigned (decided by the group) it is easier to work through the simulation. It was difficult to get anyone to compromise and/or agree on anything. That was because many of my teammates did not read the instructions. Also, there was this ONE student who wanted everything their way. There's always that one.
Overall we (as a team) learned a lot about making profitable business decisions. All of the topics you mentioned were a part of the SAP version of the simulation.
My advice is to make sure you read ALL of the instructions thoroughly. The simplest of things can cost you greatly in the end. Lastly, don't over-analyze the data. It is not as difficult as it seems. (IMO)

I also took it online (6-week course format) You may have a better experience since the teams are smaller.

No problem! My team was the underdog in the practice rounds, however we bounched back in the competition rounds and are beating our competition by $8m in profits!! MAJOR turn around.
