Lol.

We are in Boston / Cambridge for my daughter's graduation from the Harvard Extension.School. After using techniques we teach here at IC to earn her AA (with 30 CLEP credits), she matriculated to HES. Thursday she will be awarded her ALB (Harvard speak for Bachelor of Arts) in Extension Studies with concentration in English with dual minors in Government and General Management.

Yes indeed, very proud Dad this week. Smile

Congrats! Big Grin

(Style note: It's "Yahd." We pahk in yahds. Bostonians don't actually "drop" their r's, though...it's part of an r-redistribution program. They're collected locally, then shipped farther west, where they're inserted as extra r's, such as in "warshing machine". My best friend, from Kansas, uses at least a couple dozen a day!)

Haha! My MIL puts extras in there too! And she is NOT from Kansas, but from Delaware. I think they ship them down the coast, and then they migrate west. :roflol:

Thanks everyone, we are having a great time. Tonight was an Alumni reception at a place called Memorial (or Annenburg) Hall...place basically looks like Hogwarts from Harry Potter. We got to chat and get pictures with Dean Lambert (the guy who led CSU onto the internet) then got to briefly meet Dean Shinagel who led the Extension School for the previous 40 years or so.

I've decided if I ever write that book to make my brief encounter with Shinagel the opening story....

The program had just finished and I was really excited to get a picture with this legend of distance education. I grab my daughter and I'm like, let's go....

We approach the poor guy and I'm all "Dean Shinagel, this is my daughter yada yada yada...can we get a picture?

Now remember this guy is around 90 or 95 years old and he just says "OK...but I gotta go to the bathroom". LOL....I snapped a quick one of he and my daughter but lacked the heart to hold the poor guy up to get one of me with him. He left us and made a beeline to the loo.....guess he really had to go!!!!
