Criminal Justice Courses - AOJ options - tsukemono - 05-15-2017

Hi, I am considering an AAS in Criminal Justice from TESU but am having trouble locating the AOJ/Criminal Justice courses in the normal testing sites (study.com, sophia, straighterline, schmoop). Granted, I'm a newb so maybe I missed something...

Are there any cheaper alternatives for criminal justice courses instead of Propero ($300/ea)?

I am looking to grab my AAS in CJ while earning my BA in Sociology. Any suggestions on overlap classes or places to look for UL credits is more than welcome!

I just finished my PF exam for study.com scholarship and am stoked to keep on earning credits!Smile

New Mexico Junior College has at least 5 courses, and they are cheap, but TESU would consider them all LL.

Penn Foster. I believe it's $79 per credit.

Penn Foster is now more expensive than Propero at $329 per course. The cheapest option would be CSU Global. Their CBEs are $250.

NMJC is actually perfect- I only need LL CJ courses, the UL courses I'm searching for are in Sociology. Sorry I wasn't more clear!! Thanks again Smile

TESU tends to make changes from time to time but for the AAS CJ I used DSST Criminal Justice which came in as 6 credits, DSST Substance abuse, ECE Juvenile Justice and cultural diversity from ECE. Cultural Diversity from ECE is expensive but there might be a few less expensive options. DSST Intro to Law Enforcement used to duplicate DSST Criminal Justice, not sure if it still does. Nocti business solutions has two exams that are NCRRS recommended and should work. One is considered AOJ and the other is considered HLS. It is a good idea to check with TESU since there have been so many changes. I think Propero may have increased their prices and might be higher then PF.

I was hoping the LL ones would work Smile I did find that some (or all) of the courses require an access code (and textbook), so the ones I looked at were like $268 each for the materials. So, not as cheap when you factor that in, but not too bad.

Wouldn't NMJC be more expensive than Propero?

Propero is $299, so they're cheaper than PF.

Some Propero courses are listed as $299 and some are listed as $330. Each time I look at their prices they seem to change.

I'm too lazy to calculate all the fees, but that's something to keep in mind at NMJC. You're not only paying $768 or $64 per credit hour. When I took one course, the fees made the cost go over $350.

Yes, they changed it - now some are $299, some are $330. Not sure why they're raising their prices, as they're already higher than everyone else for many of these courses.
