Cornerstone liberal arts - Ep2016 - 03-03-2017

I was talking to an academic advisor and he stated that if i doesn't enroll by march then i will be subjected to do a cornerstone class. We applied and got our evaluation done last march.

What is your question? How do you waive the cornerstone?

Assuming you're talking about TESU, then there are a few ways to get it waived, but it's not clear if that's what your looking for.

I was wondering if they are telling me the right info. Is the cornerstone a requirement now and how do I get it waived. Yes TESU.

yes, it's a requirement now, but wouldn't have been in the previous catalog year.

You can waive it by transferring 104+ credits to TESU, or the better way is to get "partnership pricing" by signing up with Study.com (they likely have many classes you need anyway), then telling TESU you want partnership pricing with their partner study.com. Not only does this waive the cornerstone, it gives you a tuition discount for the Capstone and i believe a discount on the residency waiver fee.

Would we be classified as previous catalog since we applied and did our academic evaluation back in march 2016.

only if you enrolled within the timeframe they gave you. Enrollment date is what's important, not so much application date.

Rrrreeeeeally? (rubs hands together) :reddevil: lol How much? In excess of what I'd be spending to sign up with Study? I don't really think I need many/any more classes, but if it's more than the cost to enroll at Study, I might look into it.

Applying and getting an eval doesn't mean anything at all. You need to enroll to do anything. Same with any school by the way, just applying doesn't actually DO anything.

A 5% discount off tuition, 10% off the residency waiver, and waiving the cornerstone.

Study.com membership is $200/month for the credit-taking options (20% off coupons exist) -- but they also have cheaper monthly plans (starting at $40 i think?) if you don't plan on taking exams with them. I would check with study.com or TESU to see if those cheaper options still qualifying you for the affiliate pricing at TESU.

March would be the deadline (you have 1 year after acceptance) past which you'd have to pay another $75 and reapply to the university. It sounds like right now you aren't subject to the cornerstone because you applied before it was in effect. You should probably go ahead and take some useful TECEP and become enrolled.
