Much Cheaper/Quicker way of doing this but if this works for you and it will work then go for it.

Can SL/Study.com courses be transferred in to Penn Foster to make it a bit cheaper? Or were you wanting to actually complete all of it at PF?

This is a duplicate thread. But there is no point of sending an ACE transcript to Penn Foster, when he/she applies to TESU, all original transcripts have to be sent. I seriously can't wrap my brain around how this is a plan.

Ah ok, sorry. I haven't been around for a bit. I can see the value of doing an AS degree via one of the NA schools if one is transferring to WGU because of the way they clear credits if you come in with an AS - my son actually could have saved some time and avoided a few courses by going that route. For TESU, though, it doesn't seem to make much sense.

The poster's question (merging both questions) was if they could do an associate's at penn foster for the purpose of knocking out the gen eds at TESU. Of course, no one knows or has looked to see if (a) they even have the same gen eds *unlikely* and (b) if every one of those is ACE evaluated *because PF is only NA and won't transfer otherwise. And then there is the question of why? The OP stated that because PF offered a payment plan. But, of course if you're using CLEP/SL/etc. you're already on a DIY "payment" plan.
I don't know if it's moot at this point, because the OP doesn't seem to have followed up to either thread.

On a quasi-related note, my younger son's homeschool plan has not been working out well - at all. I just saw yesterday that PF charges $949 for the full high school diploma program, and one of the options is an early college plan which for the same price includes 5 ACE approved college courses. Since Study.com seems to be totally overwhelming him, I'm wondering if this might be a better, gentler way to both get him a HS diploma beyond the homeschool one he'd have gotten otherwise, and to get him 15 college credits. The lack of "time crunch" aspect is attractive. But I know there's not much love for PF in general in this forum. I'm going to do some more research. Frankly, anything is better than what's happening right now, which is mostly complaining, procrastinating, and avoiding anything resembling schoolwork.

Just looking quickly at the requirements of the two degrees (I looked at General Business) I would say they overlap quite nicely. Agreed it wouldn't be a block transfer and there are certainly cheaper ways to get credit...but I do see the allure of PF. I have one student right now who tried all the methods, she hates CBE but managed several CLEP/DSST, she liked SL, but when she found PF which we used after CSU-Pueblo and U of Idaho proved too expensive things just took off. She is using PF for the upper level work required of a BS in Org Leadership with a 2nd in human resources...lots of UL at PF that fits this mold. I do see how and why a student might make this choice. PF will also break the cost of a single class down and allow it to be paid in thirds over three months.
PF reports to have an articulation agreement with Charter Oak, but I can't find it.

That is only $63/credit for the college work plus the PF piece of paper and the whole thing comes nicely wrapped. It isn't what we elected, but it doesn't suck. I might really think on where to use those 15 credits....if one elected to earn upper level credit with them that would be an added bonus and add to the value IMO.
