I passed this exam with a 77; you only need a 65 to pass. The test is completely multiple choice. I only read the IC flashcard set once. I prefer reading through flashcard sets twice when I have time, but I don't think that would have helped with this test. The stuff I likely missed wasn't covered by IC. This is a subject where you can figure out a lot of answers with common sense and basic knowledge of marketing and journalism.

I'm a good test-taker, but the difficulty of TECEPs and the amount of study they require has been grossly exaggerated by people who haven't even taken them. The need of studying the recommended textbook has also been exaggerated. The test developers might have used one textbook to develop a TECEP, but most mainstream textbooks are largely the same for each subject. With all the TECEPs I passed, I either relied on IC and Quizlet flashcards or free e-books. For Strategic Management, I only spent a little bit of time reading key points in the recommended textbook and dedicated the rest of my study to flashcards.

You should always go over the sample questions in the test description because those questions or ones very similar to them are often on the test.

Agreed! Welcome back!

And thanks for sharing about your TECEP experiences, it's always good to have the perspective of someone who's actually taken the test(s).

I took this TECEP, and thought it was one of the harder TECEP's I've taken! I got a 70% on it. I studied the flashcards (not my favorite method) and started reading through the textbook, but it was so dry it was hard to get through. I finally just gave up, scheduled the test, and took it. I will say, after working in HR for years, nothing work-related really prepared me for this exam, so i couldn't rely on my experience there. Some of the info was common sense, but a lot of it was just stuff from the book (names especially).

It wasn't horrifying or anything, but not easy either.
