ACE credit transcript question - erinp88 - 01-26-2017

I'm looking to transfer into a state college in Michigan. Their equalivency transfer data base has moth ALEKS and Straighterline listed.. but does it really matter if I were to use study.com or schmoop? I feel silly asking an advisor about these sites, but obviously will. Just curious as to what an ACE transcript looks like and if it designates where the credit came from.

The transcript is very clear where the credit comes from. Definitely check with an advisor.

One thing you should ask your advisor is if ALEKS is accepted when taken privately, or if it is only accepted when taken through a college - ALEKS is strange in that many colleges use it, so while it's probably going to be fine, you should ask just to be sure.
Also, I'd ask if they accept Straighterline through a SL partnership or is it though the Alternative Credit Project by ACE? If they are in the ACP, you might have more options!
And, I think you're totally reasonable to ask if they accept other "ACE EVALUATED NON-TRADITIONAL CREDITS" like those through study.com or schmoop.
Last question, ask if there is a limit to the number of ACE credits they accept - some colleges lump these in with other things (like transfer, CLEP, etc) while others keep them completely separate.

Either way, I'd ask all 4 question just for clarity. The big 3 plus a couple other popular college choices here get used so much that the policy is known better by the members of this forum than their own advising staff- that's not the case for your degree.
Good Luck!!!
