Recent COSC Capstone Info..... - boalex207 - 01-16-2017
I'm within striking distance of a Bachelor's from Charter Oak, but the Capstone seems very daunting. Can you guys who are in it now or recently completed it give me an idea of what I'm looking at and need to prepare for? I've looked but specific, recent info evades me. The degree will be in a combination of social science fields, history/sociology/criminal justice..
Thanks

Before you enroll at Charter Oak, you might want to clarify that all of those lovely DSST credits will be accepted as upper level. Even though you took them before some were downgraded, COSC now has separate lists of exam credit values for those "(enrolled & matriculated prior to 7/1/2016)" and "(enrolled & matriculated on or after 7/1/2016)."
This is how those credits are valued in the after 7/1/2016 list:
Substance Abuse (445) 4-13-2015 UL
History of the Vietnam War (436) 10-2-2015 UL
Business Ethics and Society (449) 10-2-2015 UL
The Civil War and Reconstruction (422) 1-13-2016 UL
World Population (B) 4-22-2016 UL
Here's To Your Health (468) 4-15-2015 LL
Environment & Humanity (418) 4-15-2015 LL
Intro to World Religions (453) 4-29-2015 LL
Intro to Computing (443) 6-9-2015 LL
UExcel - Juvenile Delinquency © 2-17-2016 LL
I like Charter Oak, but if they tell you to go by the newer list, you should consider TESU or Excelsior instead.
The TESU list:
Substance Abuse (445) 4-13-2015 SOS-303 Substance Abuse 3UL
History of the Vietnam War (436) 10-2-2015 HIS-351 A History of the Vietnam War 3UL
World Population (B) 4-22-2016 SOC-318 World Populations 3UL
Business Ethics and Society (449) 10-2-2015 BUS-302 Business Ethics in Society 3UL
The Civil War and Reconstruction (422) 1-13-2016 HIS-252 Civil War and Reconstruction 3LL
UExcel - Juvenile Delinquency © 2-17-2016 SOC-242 Juvenile Delinquency 3LL
Intro to Computing (443) 6-9-2015 COS-101 Introduction to Computers 3LL
Here's To Your Health (468) 4-15-2015 HEA-103 Health and Human Development (formerly Here's to Your Health) 3LL
Environment & Humanity (418) 4-15-2015 ENS-201 Environment and Humanity: Race to Save the Planet 3LL
Intro to World Religions (453) 4-29-2015 REL-277 Introduction to World Religions 3LL
TESU would be likeliest for a BA in Liberal Studies based on your listed exams. With two more upper level exams (like the DSST Organizational Behavior and Rise and Fall of the Soviet Union), you would have your UL credits complete and a concentration in Social Science too.
