US History II - Jubilee163 - 12-28-2016 Hello All, How and what would you recommend I study for the US History II CLEP? I just don't know where to start. Thank you in advance US History II - Mamasaphire - 12-28-2016 Welcome to the forum! I did a quick search and found threads discussing the US History II CLEP. Here are a couple to get you started ![]() http://www.degreeforum.net/general-education-testing-discussion/24907-history-2-a.html and http://www.degreeforum.net/general-education-testing-discussion/13660-us-history-ii-clep.html US History II - Mamasaphire - 12-28-2016 I should mention that some of the threads/discussions are older, but there are some good suggestions (using IC/InstantCert, etc). US History II - hsfamfun - 12-28-2016 My 17 year old son is making his way through US History II on Shmoop.com and is enjoying it! If the college that you are considering accepts ACE credit, this could be an option. It is about $87 for a month and you could easily do that class in a month. What's great is they offer an assortment of Literature, History, and Math classes and you can complete as many as you can get through in a month! God Bless him, I though the two U.S. History classes were horrible. Modern European History was much much better of a course. Just my 2 cents! Agreed - my son struggled through US History 2 on Shmoop, only to discover WGU doesn't accept credits from Shmoop. He was not pleased. Fortunately he was able to zip through the course on Straighterline in 2 or 3 days. US History II - Yanji - 12-29-2016 ETSU OpenBUCS | Free Online College Courses This may not be exactly what you're looking for, but East Tennessee State University offers a few 8-week courses online for free, including US History II, with assigned readings, videos, instructor feedback, and everything else you'd expect in a typical online college course you pay for. Even if you don't finish the course according to their schedule, the resources alone may be worth checking out. The bad part is that you can't get college credit for it without paying $325. That's a lot of money for a course that you can take at a CC for ½ that price, and from places on here for ⅓ of that cost. If you just want to use the resources, that's great. I'm sure it's set up much better than Saylor. And if you had a HS student who wanted to see what a college-level course was like, but you didn't want to commit to paying for it, this might be a good option as well. You could always take a CLEP exam after you were done to actually get the credit (or another method we use on here). |
