Advice about Financial Aid. - jd2792 - 12-27-2016 So I have my a.a. and waiting till after the holidays to finish with tesu! My question would be if anyone has any experience with still receiving FAFSA (I don't think I can use new mexico state out of state since I already have my A.a.) to then help pay for the tests! Hopefully this makes since to anyone reading. Cheers! Advice about Financial Aid. - Mamasaphire - 12-27-2016 jd2792 Wrote:So I have my a.a. and waiting till after the holidays to finish with tesu! My experience is that I was unable to use Pell Grant or loan money for testing, however I was able to use a very small amount of my Pell Grant towards a regular course at TESU. Most people either pay out of pocket for testing/ACP (like SL, Study, ed4credit, etc), or find a way to have their employer or the GI Bill-type thing cover it. Someone else can probably explain it better than me ![]() Advice about Financial Aid. - azt579 - 12-27-2016 What I did was take two 8 week courses at my local community college and used my pell grant to pay for those. The amount that was left over was sent to me as a refund and I used that to pay for some CLEP and DSST tests. It worked out for me because I didn't have to pay for any of the tests out of pocket. Advice about Financial Aid. - desireelws50 - 12-29-2016 I suggest using money out of pocket and using used books and getting instant cert or the rea clep books. If you are low on funds go part-time (6 credits) and clep 1 to 2 classes a month.
