American Opportunity Credits - mofutofu - 12-20-2016 Hello, I have a question. I have been taking ALEKS classes and I have signed up for 2 Straighterline classes, English 1 and C++ programming. Does this qualify me as a half time student? Also, Can I get tax credits for CLEP tests? Thanks American Opportunity Credits - AJ_Atlanta - 12-20-2016 You are not a matriculated student in that you have not been accepted into a recognized college yet, so I would say not. American Opportunity Credits - videogamesrock - 12-20-2016 It is based on actual courses taken at a school. I did my research on this one because I have spent a good amount on CLEP materials but its not covered. American Opportunity Credits - Synicaal - 12-21-2016 On this same note, does anyone know if TESU residency waiver/graduation fees count for this? American Opportunity Credits - videogamesrock - 12-21-2016 It's based on your 1098 showing if you were a full time or part time student at TESU. If less than 6 credits taken it most likely won't count and will only be used as a deduction instead of a credit. Deductions works just as good for me, as long as I can claim it in some way its a small bonus in my eyes.
