Looking for tips on how to get TESU to admit our 14 yr. old daughter. We were denied when she was 13 because she is not an adult. I know a handful of people who were admitted at 16 when it was TESC. We would really like to lock into degree requirements, as things seem to keep changing. Our daughter has 60 credits through CLEP so far and is interested in completing a 4-year degree (likely in business). Thanks if you can offer some insight in how to accomplish this goal. Thanks!

Depending on your state, she could be legally emancipated , which may help the situation. I was living on my own at 15. I could not enter into contracts with light companies, couldn't enroll myself in highschool, or appear for myself in court (Darn speeding tickets :roflol
until after I was officially emancipated, no real problems afterwords though. Just an idea to look into.

Something tells me that a parent who is trying to get their daughter enrolled in an online college at age 14 is not also trying to their daughter emancipated.

I would say keep collecting credits and then try again each year. She would probably be accepted at 16. People are allowed to start at the community college around here at 16. What is the hurry anyway?

I agree with this statement, most likely 16 is when she will be able to enroll. Or call TESU directly and speak with someone there, they will be able to give you direct information.

Let me start by congratulating your daughter on the great success with CLEP. 60 credits at her age is a really special accomplishment. The suggestion for her to continue acquiring credits would be my suggestion as well. Minus the Strategic Business course for the BSBA, she could secure 117 (57 more for her) credits prior to even enrolling. Unless there was a specific interest in obtaining a high GPA with TESU, this approach is the fastest and best cost value option. You daughter has a high interest to graduate and the start with TESU won't slow her down at all with that goal.
When reapplying, I would encourage you to include as much detail as possible when submitting your request. Have your daughter share her prior experience through CLEP and game plan for the remaining credits. In addition, I would also include some passion on why she has her heart set for TESU.

To answer your question, you can try speaking to an advisor each semester. Keep track of who you talk to, a handful come and go each year.

i was accepted to tesu underage in july of this year. They said if i had 30 credits they would grant the waiver.

Probably not, I just offered it up as a possible solution/loophole. In most circumstances I could see your child wanting to be emancipated as a concern. However, the courts would probably sign off, because her exemplary academic achievements demonstrate ability and knowledge above her peers. Also, it seems like the daughter has enough head on her shoulders to not abuse the technicality of her parents not have absolute legal control over her. Plus, it has little affects on claiming them as an independent for tax purposes, or any other normal family relation documentation. Though another means would probably be better, if this is the only means, and the way they want to do it, I dont see it being a bad idea.
