Second Bachelors at Excelsior? - jsd - 11-21-2016 I'm having a hard time finding any stated policy on obtaining a 2nd degree at EC on their website. Anyone know where I can find specific, current information through them? It's very easy to find on COSC and TESU's sites Second Bachelors at Excelsior? - NAP - 11-21-2016 The Student Policy Handbook should have that type of information. Excelsior College | Handbooks While I admittedly haven't read the whole thing, I couldn't find anything in the Table of Contents about this previously. Second Bachelors at Excelsior? - NAP - 11-21-2016 Sorry! I checked my old file from 2011, which looks like it is still available through google. I see that the new one does not have an index! It was around page 46, but I don't know if that will help for the new version. Second Bachelors at Excelsior? - jsd - 11-21-2016 thanks, i'll dig back in Second Bachelors at Excelsior? - NAP - 11-21-2016 I've tried searching it several ways with no results. It should be a standard, easy-to-find policy. Second Bachelors at Excelsior? - jsd - 11-21-2016 You would think so, but apparently it's a secret over there Second Bachelors at Excelsior? - NAP - 11-21-2016 Yes, there are too many of those right now in my opinion, like where is the guide to credit-by-exam?! Second Bachelors at Excelsior? - airricklee - 11-27-2016 Page 50-51 states "Students who have already received a postsecondary degree from an international institution that is recognized by the evaluating agency as comparable to an accredited in the United States are subject to the College policies on second and third degrees." Which Leads to me think that somewhere in this mess https://info.excelsior.edu/policies/student-policies/ you will find your answer. I would just call or email, and ask where that policy is posted. Also I found this Credit-by-Exam Catalog however it may be out of date since it states it is up to date until August 2013. Good starting point maybe? Second Bachelors at Excelsior? - KayV - 11-27-2016 Here's a copy of the guide I made recently. The 2013 guide is still good for determining whether an exam is arts and sciences or applied professional. I posted this as a thread but of course can't find it now. Excelsior College Unofficial Guide to Credit by Exam Options Hidden deep in the EC website, effective September 1, 2016, Excelsior College will accept CBE options such as CLEP and DSST according to the ACE recommendations regarding upper and lower level credit, and only with Pass/ Fail grades. I really miss the guide they last published in 2013, but recommendations have changed since then. Also, Excelsior seems to be trying to make it as easy as possible to find their own UExcel options while making it difficult to find the credit value of other exams. Even so, Excelsior remains a good option for certain people in certain situations, and its price is comparable to TESU and COSC for some degrees when you use the partnership pricing. I have gone through the ACE website to check out the current credit values of CLEP and DSST exams and list them here for convenience.
