TESU Information Literacy Options - JFH - 11-16-2016 I submitted "PHI-225 Comparative Religion" for the Information Literacy requirement because of the TE example REL-405 Introduction to World Religions. It was turned down for that Information Literacy because it does not follow the ACRL guidelines for that area. Any suggestions for another test I can use for this course requirement? DSST Technical Writing is the one I can see ... anything else? thanks TESU Information Literacy Options - jsd - 11-16-2016 to name a few... CLEP Analyzing and Interpreting Literature, DSST Introduction to World Religions, UExcel Research Methods in Psychology, Tor College Credits Info Lit, Straighterline Introduction to Religion, TECEP technical writing TESU Information Literacy Options - OakLakeNC - 11-16-2016 That DSST Technical Writing looks like one of the easier DSST tests. Then there is Tor or Penn Foster for an actual course called Information Literacy. Sounds crazy, but always better to check first. Plus, I think those courses end up costing more per credit than the other courses available. You can pay $100 for PF's 1cr Info Lit course, or $100 for one of the other 3cr options. You can pay $150 for Tor's 3cr course, or $100 (or less) for another course. It's a no-brainer - take a different course. TESU Information Literacy Options - Joeman200 - 11-30-2016 I am also interested in other options out there for Info Lit. Since I'm interested in a BACJ degree, I cannot use Technical Writing, Criminology, or Research Methods in Social Sciences. Right now I have Analyzing and Interpreting Literature CLEP on my spreadsheet. Has anyone taken Straighterline Introduction to Religion and would you recommend it? Is there anything out there that can transfer in as SOS-110: Living in the Information Age? TESU Information Literacy Options - dfrecore - 12-01-2016 Joeman200 Wrote:I am also interested in other options out there for Info Lit. A&I Lit CLEP is very popular, as is Intro to Religion in all of it's many forms (DSST, SL, Study.com). There is no inexpensive option for the SOS-110 - that is a specific TESU course. I just failed A & I today (47) and won't retake. Wish I had gotten the CLEP/REA book first and would have never pursued A & I. HORRIBLE, impractical course. There's got to be something easier and at least interesting to study! You quoted the alternatives in your post! TESU Information Literacy Options - jsd - 12-21-2016 These are all courses that can fulfill the TESU info lit requirement TESU Information Literacy Options - collegechick - 12-21-2016 Thank you JSD, just double checking. |
