I was just wondering if doing a PLA via blog and podcast would be an option? For example I could have a podcast episode that discussed my experience in HR and how it relates to the course rather than writing it all out? I know there is a written narrative, but usually examples need to back these. Any feedback?

That's a very good idea, a blog and podcast will work great. If you hit all the bases/requirements, it may work just fine.
As long as you're "connecting all the dots, crossing all your T's and dotting your I's" it should be acceptable as an alternative.
I want to give that a try, as I was actually looking at blogging and podcasting as well... maybe vlogging/youtubing too!

Yes. The portfolio is comprised of various pieces of evidence demonstrating that you have the knowledge in the course description/learning outcome. Your blog and podcast could be used as some of that evidence.

Great thanks for the feedback. I just literally did a test on a small subject and recording 11 minutes on the subject went quickly for me.

Video of a performance, or of a talk you gave could be a good evidence item, but I do not believe you could use a video in place of documenting your learning.

Agreed, it'd just be one piece of evidence in your portfolio.

What I would like to do is set up a wordpress blog where I create categories of each course I'd like to challenge. Then I would write the highlights of each recording and discuss via audio feed.

Example:

Category

Entrepreneurship 101

1) Different forms of entities:
15 min audio covering the topics from the book and relating it to real life.
2) Taxation of entitites:
15 min audio covering this topic

Human Resource Management 301

1) On boarding process
Audio
2) Hiring laws
Audio

etc.

TESU has you upload your portfolio to a Google website, and even encourages you to add photo and video evidence, so the blog would serve no purpose. However, I do not believe you will get out of writing a proper portfolio.

Sound fair enough.

Piggybacking on Davewill... you can create a blog, but I should have been more clear before: you would need to convert your blog posts to uploadable files, such as PDF or Word. The professor who evaluates your portfolio isn't going to follow a link to your blog, I don't think. You will be uploading all of your evidence to a website, then the professor will evaluate it.
