Do they no longer allow students to complete portfolios independent of a college or university?

Quote:To enroll in a LearningCounts portfolio development course, find a college or university near you that offers LearningCounts. There are over 50 institutions across the United States (online and on-campus) that offer LearningCounts portfolio assessment.

Once you complete the portfolio development course through your college
or university, you will be able to submit portfolios for assessment by
LearningCounts faculty evaluators.

TUITION AND FEES

The tuition for LearningCounts is set by the college or university where you enroll in the course.

MAXIMUM PORTFOLIO CREDITS POSSIBLE

Each portfolio aligns to one undergraduate college course. Ask your college adviser how many portfolio credits you can earn; each college has their own limit.

They list Excelsior and TESU, but not Charter Oak.

With TESU, you might as well complete the PLAs with them if you have to take their introductory course. They're cheaper than LearningCounts for portfolio assessments.

I just sent an email to Learningcounts to ask about the OP's question, whether they do not allow assessment independent of a College or University any more. I will post once I hear from them. It does sound like that is the case.
