Hey everyone,
So on my journey to a bsba cis from tesu, I realize I'm going to need quite a few elective credits. Math seems to be my strong suit. I've already taken and passed: college algebra, precalculus, calculus, and statistics from clep/dsst.
Based on that prior info, I have 2 questions...
1. Is there a limit to the number of math credits/LL credits I can transfer to tesu? Specifically for bsba cis?
2. I'm thinking I could get credit from clep college mathematics. Does anybody else have any ideas for math courses I could take to knockout elective credits that wouldn't overlap with what I've already earned?

Math could fit in Quantitative Literacy 3, Mathematics 6, Understanding the Physical and Natural World 4-7 (but I think you have to have three of a science?), General Ed electives 14-17, and Electives 6.
You already have the MAT-121 College Algebra 3 and STA-201 Statistics 3 prerequisites complete, and MAT-129 Precalculus 3 and MAT-231 Calculus 4 as well.
You could complete
MAT-102/103 CLEP College Math 6
MAT-105 TECEP Liberal Arts Math 3
MAT-115 ALEKS/ DSST Intermediate Algebra 3
MAT-199 UExcel Contemporary Math 3
MAT-232 UOhio CCE Calculus II 4
and while we're at it
OPM-351 Saylor Business Statistics 3
MAT-333 EdX Intro Differtial Equations 3
MAT-399 EdX Linear Differential Equations 3
MAT-399 EdX Nonlinear Differential Equations 3

I think math doesn't count in the Understanding the Natural World.
I would agree that you should take the $80 CLEP College Math, the $114 TECEP, the $25 Saylor Stats, and the $25 ALEKS Intermediate Algebra course. Those will be the cheapest (that I know of). The Saylor course won't count as a Gen Ed though, it will count as a Business elective in the AOS, or as a Free Elective (It comes in as an OPM course I think).
The $49 EdX courses only count for credit through ACE (or NCCRS, I can't remember) if you take them live (which they aren't right now). If you take them after the fact, they don't count - but they may come up live again so you might want to wait for them until that happens.

Another good option for someone who enjoys math and is a business major -
DSST Business Math transfers as BUS-161 and can be used as either a business, or free, elective. Fun stuff!
Also, if TESU has separated math courses from Gen Ed Elective Sec D, you can use 100-200 level computer courses in that section. Ex. COS-101 DSST Intro to Computers or the CLEP alternate. If memory serves Saylor also has a entry level computer course/exam.

Counting Math under Understanding the Physical and Natural World seemed a little odd to me as well. I was just going by where TESU allocated the Math DSST exams.

And I had forgotten about Business Math, great call.
ETA: I checked and although TESU lists Math under UPNW for credit by exam, Math is listed as Quantitative Literacy under General Ed courses. So that's 4-7 hours less of mathfill, sorry.

Thank you all so much. I'm planning to take physics in a classroom and eventually the chemistry clep but it scares me. So I'll put those in understanding the physical and natural world category.

From the TESU CLEP pg, it looks as if math courses are included under the general physical/natural world category. It's actually a bit confusing the way it's broken up on the detailed gen ed page. The only way to know for sure is to speak with the school.
If uncomfortable with chemistry, use the DSST intro to computing under gen ed and the TECEP CIS-107 under business core; they are both listed within the degree plan. Even though one of the, in my opinion, clueless Advisor earlier this year mentioned you could not use both. I would argue if that decision had been firm, it would be published in the notes section, as with similar instances in other degree plans. Again, always clear forum advice given with the college...exams preapproved and added to your degree plan.

Great minds, dfrecore! I had added that to the post above. I totally agree about TESU not having its act together at times. Still, it's an invaluable resource so we have to keep that in mind.
