Emergency need help! Math, FINE ART/PERFORMING ART, Hum - smartiepants86 - 08-02-2016 Hi everyone, Kinda in a sticky emergency situation with scholarship on the line. My first option is to get a math class I am not good in math or tests, but I will try. I looked up mini-mesters and some independent study but I was worried about time constraints. I need something I can do in 2 weeks that will transfer to a university. My second options is to graduate from my junior college and to do that I need a fine art/performing art, and just another humanities. Where can I find and complete a class really quickly? I know I can test out of one of the humanities, but the fine art performing art is more difficult. Examples of course that satisfy that are below. I need at least 3 credits in math, 3 in fapa, and 3 humanities. Math, FINE ART/PERFORMING ART, Hum - Zachcleigh - 08-02-2016 depending which university you go to and their policies on transfer credits, you may be able to take a lower level math clep exam, which shouldn't be too bad to study for if you have two weeks. Emergency need help! Math, FINE ART/PERFORMING ART, Hum - dfrecore - 08-02-2016 Do either of the schools accept CLEP, DSST, ACE-recommended courses? That's probably the fastest way to get your credits in. CLEP has College Mathematics, you could probably study for that and pass in 2 weeks using Khan Academy. They have a Humanities exam as well, it's broad and not easy, but passable with plenty of study. It they will take a Literature course instead, Analyzing & Interpreting Literature is one of the easier Lit courses. If you know Spanish, French or German, those normally count as a Humanity, and these have some of the highest pass rates of all CLEP exams. DSST has Art of the Western World and World Religions UExcel has Intro to Music, and TESC has a Music History II TECEP exam. If you need a self-paced or independent-study course from a 4-year school, here are some options: U of Arkansas Self-Paced ($480/course): https://online.uark.edu/self-paced/courses.php CSU-Pueblo IS ($495/course): Schedule of Courses > Division of Extended Studies > Colorado State University-Pueblo Univ of Idaho IS ($510/course): https://www.uidaho.edu/academic-affairs/independent-study/courses/find-a-course LSU DL ($619/course): https://is.lsu.edu/courselist.asp?nid=102&Level=CO&Online=0 There are other options if your school will take ACE-recommended courses such as Straighterline, Saylor, ALEKS, etc. Emergency need help! Math, FINE ART/PERFORMING ART, Hum - KayV - 08-02-2016 If you go to NCC, they accept (and administer) DSST exams. Art of the Western World and Intro to World Religions or Business Ethics would be good choices. They also accept DSST Fundamentals of College Algebra and DSST Intro to Statistics as math credits. College Level Examination Program (CLEP)Â I would start looking here for more help. Free Clep Prep.com Emergency need help! Math, FINE ART/PERFORMING ART, Hum - bsimi - 08-02-2016 The key is to see if they accept ACE recommended courses from any of the providers we have mentioned on this site: such as Straighterline, Study.com, Sophia or Shmoop. All of these can be done quickly (with the fastest being Study.com and Shmoop). However, not all schools accept these credits - so beware. Most will accept CLEP, and a large majority will accept DSST (but not as many as CLEP). If you are good at cramming for and then taking tests, these are good options. However, if you are not good at tests, then you might consider the other options. Emergency need help! I am just thinking they dont know what it is but if it comes through on ACE they may take it. Their motto is put it on a transcript and send it in. I am looking into shmoop but history doesn't count as a humanities. Emergency need help! Math, FINE ART/PERFORMING ART, Hum - dfrecore - 08-03-2016 I would ask if they take ACE-recommended courses, that might help clarify. They can't be expected to know every single way to earn ACE credits, but if you know they take ACE, then it's much easier for you to figure out where to take your courses. |
