Certified Manager (CM) professional designation certification! - Life Long Learning - 07-18-2016 It is officially from the Institute of Certified Professional Managers (ICPM) on the JMU Campus. This is a Business Center of the College of Business James Madison University.:hurray: Each online proctored exam was 120 multiple questions in two hours each. At $770 (including books), I am lucky the Post 9/11 G.I. Bill will pay most of it. CM professional designation certification upon passing exams. For me this was three months of studying. The books were easy to read, but the exam questions were not so easy. I took one test a month. I passed, but it was not as easy as conventional online college courses. The Recertification Process is the cheapest professional recertification that I have. You get to keep it after retirement or free: Recertification is accomplished by meeting two requirements: 1. Paying a $50 recertification fee annually. 2. Completing 45 management/leadership-related professional development units (PDUs) during the three year renewal period. Retired CMs are released from the responsibility of recertifying upon notifying ICPM of their retirement date In June 2016, ICPM surpassed 13,000 the number of Certified Managers (CMs) worldwide. Today, ICPM is the largest management certifying body in the United States. It was founded in 1974. It is very general by nature! The only designation that I know of in demand is the CEM (Certified Emergency Manager). I did the CM as an educational lifelong learning event.
