Natural Science Requirement at Excelsior - ImustStudy - 09-30-2007 I need to fulfill my natural science requirement for Excelsior. Does anyone know if the Drug and Aclohol DSST will meet this requirement? I understand that it is also upper division credit. Is this also correct? The exam cards seem pretty easy so it will be a breeze. I just don't want to waste my time on a test I don't need. Help is appreciated. ImustStudy, The DSST Drug and Alcohol exam IS an upper level exam, but unfortunately it falls under the "Applied Professional" category and NOT Natural Sciences. The ONLY upper level exam that meets the Natural Sciences requirement is the ECE Pathophysiology exam. The following are all of the exams that DO meet the Natural Sciences requirement: CLEP (all lower level): Biology (6 credits) Calculus (3 credits) Chemistry (6 credits) College Algebra (3 credits) College Mathematics (6 credits) Natural Sciences (6 credits) Precalculus (3 credits) DSST (all lower level and all 3 credits each): Astronomy Environment & Humanity Fundamentals of College Algebra Physical Geology Principles of Physical Science Principles of Statistics ECE: Anatomy & Physiology (6 credits) Microbiology (3 credits) Pathophysiology (3 credits) - Upper level** Statistics (3 credits) I hope this helps. JoAnne Natural Science Requirement at Excelsior - ImustStudy - 09-30-2007 Joanne, Any recommendation on which is easiest based on your experience? I only need two units in this area. I have ordered the technical math 1 course from PennFoster which is 2/3 units depending on if you want a class grade or just credit. I wanted to get all done by the deadline for December awarding of diploma but lookslike unless I clep/test I won't get that done. Your help is much appreciated. Thanks Natural Science Requirement at Excelsior - Kiwi Lover - 10-01-2007 ImustStudy Wrote:Any recommendation on which is easiest based on your experience?Actually, I haven't personally taken ANY of those exams, because I had already met the requirements when I brought over my credits from a previous school. However, based on the feedback I have seen posted, it looks like ASTRONOMY or ENVIRONMENT & HUMANITY may be your best choices. Hopefully, anyone who has taken either one of those exams will chime in and tell you for sure. <hint hint> Good luck! I'm taking Tech Math 1 from Penn Foster as well, but I didn't know about the grade/credit option. How many credits is it, if you just want the credits? Two credits, correct? If you transfer your PFC math grade to EC for a letter grade you will receive 2 credits, however if you take the pass/fail option you receive 3 credits. |
