Hello Atoshi,

I can provide you a solid overview of the program, put you in touch with some existing students and the chair/dean of the UPOWER CIT program. We can walk you through the difference between the UPOWER and standard/online traditional CIT delivery model. It's important to understand the requirements in the UPOWER self-paced version and the more traditional classroom version. If you'd like, please call 800-466-0019 and ask to speak with the VP of Admissions. I look forward to speaking with you.

VP of Admissions. No name?

I thought that was kind of odd, too. I don't like cold-calling an organization and asking for someone by title. Hodges doesn't even appear to have a VP of Admissions -- they have a Chief Admissions Officer: University Leadership | Hodges University

Although, the 1-800 number is legit.

Yeah, I did that same research myself. They have their entire staff directory posted. No VP of Admissions.

Small school, RA, non profit. Doesn't seem too bad. I don't understand the weird tactic for the title, but I guess it gives people the warm and fuzzy?

What's weird is both of them are 1 post wonders for now. I am interested in their MIS program but haven't finished my undergrad yet. I'll look into them by years end, as well as Patten and WGU. I was thinking this was a marketing ploy, but there shouldn't be a reason to that as Hodges has a great reputation in Florida already.

Atoshi joined in March. I think the post is legit and there's nothing wrong in my opinion with a school in the OP answering questions. Their MPA looks interesting, but nothing I would be interested at this moment.

We've had a few school reps posting here, it's nothing odd.

I am enrolled there I am currently doing the CS but I might switch to CIT

Overall it has been a good experience. I have been super lazy about everything and I have had a lot of life drama lately so I am not as far as I want to be in the courses that I am taking. (I really need to step it up)

But let me give you a run down on how everything is.

Enrollment was easy. Just a lot of sending paperwork back and forth. You can start at the beginning of every month.

They accepted a lot of ACE type credits and most of my CC. They accepted all of my Straighterline courses, Aleks math courses. The free ethics course that was on here recently. They even took Teex but I had only completed the first one. Cybersecurity for everyone. I imagine they would take the other two.

They took my Pel Grant so I do not actually owe anything. Which is great.

Right now I am in the beginning classes.

The class formats involve hands on projects and then tests but if you know the material you can go ahead and test out of the classes.

Does that help?

To all the skeptics, Hodges is a regionally accredited private school in Florida. I believe that it is predominantly Spanish. It just so happens to have a CBL program that works with my schedule and for my needs. Although after joining I don't know if computers are the right fit for me. But that has nothing to do against the school.

I was told they are planning to do a CBL business program, so hopefully that will come out sometime this year but apparently it is in the works.

Yes, Hodges is still on my list of schools I am actively looking at for Grad School. I reviewed their website and their history, the program offerings appeal to me as well. Mainly got hooked on them by viewing staff/student testimonials, the same reason I looked at TESU.
