quick question about Study.com exam - cookderosa - 02-01-2016
Quick question for those of you that use Study.com
My son finished all the unit exams and is taking his practice final today. I logged in and tried to get his credit-final scheduled, but I'm confused.
The tab took me to the register - download software - take the exam - get your results page. I clicked through all of that but now it says "The exam could take several hours and must be completed in one try. After you click the button below and register for the exam, you will need to take the exam immediately and you will lose an exam attempt if you fail to do so.
By pressing the button below, I certify that I have met all requirements and am ready to take this exam now."
So, before I push that button- what's going to happen? Am I going to get to schedule his test with proctor U for tomorrow or is the exam going to open now (which we DON'T want today)? I thought we had to schedule it first??

They actually don't use a live proctor like ProctorU. It's automated software that guides you through the authentication process and records you.
To answer the question, yes, you'll take the exam right away when you click that button. They give you a password/access code (and also email it to you) so you can open the exam.

The Remote Proctor Now guides you through a nearly identical process as ProctorU (photo ID, webcam pan of the room, view of the desk, must be alone in the room, can't take break or leave the view of the camera, no headphones, etc...). I'm under the impression they just watch the video after the fact rather than live like ProctorU.

I've taken their exams. There is not a live proctor as you are able to take the exam at any time of the day with no advanced notice or prior arrangements. There's no way they are equipped for that if they are watching you live.
