How to find locations for DSST Public Speaking - horns - 01-26-2016
I asked the test center I normally take tests at if they administered Principle of Public Speaking, and they responded that they did not since they couldn't get it to work any of the times they had tried.
Are there any websites or other resources that list test centers administering the DSST Principles of Public Speaking test?
Or do I have to call around the list of test centers on the DSST website until I find one?

I am in the same boat. It's looking like we gotta do it the hard way: call around and hope for the best!
I wrote to ProctorU, an online proctoring service, to see if they provide the test. I'm awaiting a reply, though I'm not too keen on trying it. Who knows, it may get the job done in a pinch!

TorCollegeCredit.com has it as well, plus if you're at TESU, they accept SL's Introduction to Communications as the Oral Communication Requirement.

I had the same problem and started calling schools with no luck. Then I wrote a generic e-mail that I sent to all the schools in my area that i could find (within a 30 mile radius or so). That saved me a lot of time and one of the schools e-mailed me back and said they do administer the test! It took me a LONG time to call and only 10 min to send out e-mails! By the way, I also called DSST, and there is no list as to which schools offer the test. Seems odd to me that such a list doesn't exist, but thats what I was told. Good luck!

I called all of the sites listed in my area. If you live in the NY/NJ area, University of Pheonix in Jersey City administers this exam. I like the idea of the previous poster regarding sending out emails. I wish I would have thought of that.

I am a little surprised that Prometric does not have a way of telling you which test centers within a certain region have qualified to deliver the Public Speaking exam at their test center. Only those who have gone through the training required to deliver the digital method of capturing the speech are able to deliver it.

Yes, it's poorly managed by Prometric. They even have a separate option for this exam when you call them. But when I selected it, the person who answered told me to go the website and call all the schools listed in my area! Anyway, I mentioned on another thread, but U of Phoenix in Jersey City for you NY/NJ people. Small room w/3 computers, so you need to schedule in advance b/c you need to be the only one in there to record your speech. $20 to proctor - nice lady there (Adrienne).
