I like some of the course titles, but I do not like their website. It does not say anything? Exams, costs, time? Tons of PR and hype.:ack:

Try looking at the Propero website. Propero is part of Pearson Learning Solutions and it is where they offer the individual courses. I have taken two courses so far. I am using them for hard to find CJ electives. There website is a little weird and the course a bit tedious. A lot of practice quizzes, quizzes, practice exams, exams and final exam. The courses are easy to complete. It varies from course to course but some can be completed in 1 to 3 weeks depending on how quickly you move through the material. Customer service isn't great but there is a learning coach who can help handle most problems. The learning coaches usually send lots of e-mails throughout the course. The learning coaches tend to spam you at times but it might be useful for some students. The learning coaches help make suggestions on study time, time management, learning strategies, etc. I only needed help from the learning coach for technical issues with the course. It is self paced but you have up to 16 weeks to complete the course. One course I have added to my ACE transcript without any problems. The other course I just requested to have it added to my ACE transcript. It usually takes 2 to 3 days to add to ACE transcript. I believe the courses are $299 per course.

Thank you for the excellent help. Have you taken Intro to Homeland Security? What CJ courses did you take? Do I have to go to a testing center? Is the final timed? 50 questions? etc Do the lessons have audio? Video? Are the lessons 1-3 hours to compete each?

I have not taken Intro to Homeland Security, though I am thinking about taking it. I have taken Criminology and Victimology. The final is taken online through the course website, it is not proctored. It is timed, 3 hours I believe. 100 questions. It took me about an hour. The lessons are about 1 to 3 hours. Each lesson has assigned chapter(s). Each lesson includes a presentation similar to FEMA IS. It has slides, some have audio or video, some review questions. There are separate audio files included though I haven't used them. The course includes a free eBook. I can open it on my laptop but have trouble opening it on my tablet.

I go to the lesson to see which chapters are assigned to that lesson. I read the chapter(s). I then review the presentation and study guide review questions. Then I take the practice quiz. It is ungraded but required in order to take the graded quiz. I take the practice quiz a couple of times. You can take it up to 5 times, must get 80 percent, 5 questions. Then I take the graded quiz, can only be taken once, 15 questions. Some lessons include a test which covers several lessons. There is a practice test, must score 80 percent to move onto graded test. Graded test has 15 questions. Practice test can be taken up to 5 times but graded test can be taken once. I believe the quizzes and tests are timed, 1 hour. Usually takes me about 20 min.

I recently transferred 2 propero/Pearson courses to TESU, victimology and criminology. Victimology transferred in as AOJ 380 and is considered both a cj and psych course. Criminology transferred in as soc 291.
