COSC does take them raw and free of cost, I'm not sure if that will work for your specific situation though. You could probably pull an unoffical evaluation by sending the FEMA to them and applying to the college. Until you take some actual classes though I don't thin they will generate an actual transcript with the FEMA on it. If the goal is just to "show 30 credits on a transcript" I don't think COSC will work....except under the credit registry process Credit Registry - Charter Oak State College $450 to register 30 credits would still be a lot cheaper than FCC at $80/credit. I think EC and TESC have similar offerings that might be cheaper. How do I turn FEMA into college credit for the lowest price - dfrecore - 11-04-2015 A cheaper (but not faster) way to do it is to go through TESC. Take 4 ALEKS courses in 1 month ($20 for 12cr), free Kaplan (3cr), free Ethics (2cr), free TEEX (6cr), free NFA (3cr), 1 Saylor course ($25 for 3cr), and 1 TECEP ($111 for 3cr), and you have 32cr for $156. Not bad. But not fast. How do I turn FEMA into college credit for the lowest price - Life Long Learning - 11-04-2015 NFA is only 2 SH. Not bad. But not fast. Great suggestions. ALEKS has College Algebra and Statistics. So does Saylor. Straighterline also has those courses, although slightly more expensive. If there is any advantage to having some college level math credits, which of those options is the easiest? I understand 30 hours is 30 hours, but maybe some planning for the future might be in order. How do I turn FEMA into college credit for the lowest price - 12save - 11-04-2015 Since the OP already took the Fema courses, COSC is the only school that still takes them raw. The question is whether the OP can get a transcript without taking a course from COSC (which someone here might know). But, if the OP HAS to take a class at Cosc, there is only one 1 unit class that is not a lab, English 103, Research Writing. There is also an enrollment fee each semester at COSC. I have learned a lot from reading lots of posts and threads, but don't know whether the OP can get a transcript w/o taking a COSC class. Any experts here know? |
