Hi,
I need 6 hours of upper level accounting. I have decided to take the exams through CSU Global through the Challenge by Exam option. Which two courses seem the least hardest:
1) Accounting Information Systems
2) Auditing
3) Government and Non-profit accounting
4) Corporate Tax
5) Business Tax
I plan on transferring these 6 hour credits to TESC.

The accounting books for these courses are expensive! Even used they run $150+, but I noticed the edition prior is ALOT cheaper. Do you believe I could get the older edition and it would still be OK or do I have to have the edition they recommend?

I had heard that they would send you study materials...did they do that? And they didn't include the book? Just curious, I want to take this course in a few months.

I have not signed up yet. I was told from a CSU advisor that the CBE exams give out study modules and slides. But they highly recommend you get the book for additional studying/review.

Anything tax-related, you should get the latest version because tax is all about changing the rules all the time so that accountants and lawyers can make a living.
milelol: AIS/Auditing are more conceptual courses so you should be able to get away with the using the previous edition.

I have worked in the tax preparation field, so I would think auditing might be the least hard.
Corporate and individual taxes are separate animals, with different puzzles to solve. They're actually fun, once you understand the basics of what the IRS expects.
