Has anyone had experience with how well tesc handles a medical situation coming up in the middle of a term? In particular for capstone class.

I may be on a waiting list for a procedure at the same time I had been thinking of taking it. If 'go time' comes up, then I'd probably be fully out of commission 3-4 days, and likely on heavy pain killers for two weeks.

I can delay the class of course(but heck, I could still be waiting the next term, or term after...) but if they work with that situation well, why put life on hold.

I think it is usually up to the class mentor once you have started a class. I had to move my mother from NJ to SC in the middle of a class and it took all of my time for about 2 weeks. I had been doing well in the course and the teacher let me hand in some work late without a penalty.

I agree to talk with your mentor - you might be able to get work done ahead of schedule. I had a HORRIBLE experience with my grad school. I was a match for bone marrow donation, which would have required a small leave of absence and they basically said too bad.

I think that's the worst school story I have ever heard.

Bring the issue up with your "mentor," many are understanding, some are not. I had an issue arise once, and was just told to get everything in before the last day of the course.
