Tesc cis - tsimmns - 07-07-2015 So I guess I am going to finish the schooling there since I can't complete at the University of Mississippi. Below is apparently what I need and already have. Does anyone know that has completed this program the outlook I can have at Graduate school for other MIS, CIS, IS programs? Anyways, this is a better listing of classes than that I originally posted. Also, I am currently under the Military Degree Completion Plan which would require 24 HRS taken here, however I don't plan on taking a class at TESC, just would rather transfer credits in and pay the Enrolled Fee at the End. Any help and suggestions are appreciated. The types of schools u can get into varies by student. Your GPA is pretty low to get into real good programs. I would recommend at least taking an easy course or two at cloviss cc or other low cost school to bring it over 2.5at least. I remember some members saying schools like FSU, Georgia Tech, etc with a TESC degree. Tesc cis - tsimmns - 07-07-2015 You're right Prloko, the GPA is low, really low. I have thought about Clovis CC as I can get the English Comp II out of the way at 175 bucks with the military AZ residence, can't beat that. I hope it transfers however, but it should being from a State CC going to a RA online school. Tesc cis - Prloko - 07-07-2015 That's a good idea. Grad schools are difficult to guage because their requirements are so different. One school wants this exam, one another, a third neither. Once school uses GPAs, others use formulas, others claim a more holistic approach. While many put heavy emphasis on experience and Letters of Recommendation. Just remember some schools are more selective than others, and some programs in schools are more selective than others. Tesc cis - cptdilbert - 07-07-2015 Prloko Wrote:That's a good idea. This is why I would highly recommend picking out what graduate programs you are interested in before finishing a degree. You want to make sure you check the boxes for requirements (pre-reqs, minimum GPAs, tests, etc.) Tesc cis - UptonSinclair - 07-07-2015 If you are looking for a school to take reasonably priced cis courses, you may want to consider KCTCS. I used their self paced courses and moved through very quickly. I am not sure how it would work out with TA or GI Bill, but the price runs about $600 per course. It would be a great way to improve your GPA as long as you apply yourself. Be warned, it is a pain getting started with them, but after than things go pretty smooth. Tesc cis - tsimmns - 07-08-2015 Thanks for this. I have a local Community College and am considering Clovis Community College for the English Comp II class, maybe even Macro and Micro. Actually can someone answer this. What specific classes fit the bill for ETHICS, DIVERSITY, AND CIVIC ENGAGEMENT? These are really the only classes on my evaluation that I have no clue about. This upcoming semester I plan on taking: Programming I with C++, Public Speaking, and re-taking macro or micro to erase the D that TESC is computing and hopefully have an A or B to raise GPA. However, I'm lost on the 3 classes I listed above. Can anyone help? Tesc cis - mednat - 07-08-2015 tsimmns Wrote:Thanks for this. They recently changed these requirements, so I'm not sure what Civic engagement is, but Straighterline Cultural Anthropology fulfilled my diversity requirement and DSST Ethics in America fullfilled my ethics requirement. Tesc cis - mednat - 07-08-2015 sanantone probably has it right on her plan: Sanantone's TESC General Education Options After July 1, 2015 - Degree Forum Wiki Tesc cis - tsimmns - 07-08-2015 Thank you for that mednat. Also, here's another question, in some of the classes that transferred into TESC as D's can I re-take them and in my final transcript have TESC show them to help raise the GPA? If so then there are couple of CC classes I can definitely take to help raise the pitiful GPA of 2.4. |
