Do you have prior learning or certificates in the subject?[/QUOTE The OM concentration cannot easily be "tested out" of. You are going to have to take a few courses, either through TESC, or transferred in. Check to see if Penn Foster has some cheap options, or perhaps your local school. When I did mine, I took took the Operations Management TECEP, and I took Total Quality Management through TESC. The TQM course only had two students in it LOL, me and another guy. It was interesting to say the least. The professor basically had to act as a student so we could "respond to two posts" like is required of the syllabus. But I learned a bit and it was pretty easy. The textbook is really boring though. The rest of my OM credits were transferred in because my Military Tech school credits were in Purchasing/Contracting. If you have an APICS credential, you may be able to convince TESC to award credit for it. The rest of the degree plan is easy because you just need to follow a standard BSBA degree plan (except for the area of concentration of course). Will also check Penn Foster see if I can take a few there. No APICS credential yet, but im working towards getting that so that I can get credit for it. Please help arrange my BSBA in Operations Management from TESC - Prloko - 06-23-2015 Check with TESC first. It isn't posted on their website that they accept credit for APICS, but they say they will "review" credentials. So it may or may not give you credit, but either way, it's a good credential to have professionally. Will let you now what they say, if they will award credit or not. Thanks Please help arrange my BSBA in Operations Management from TESC - passit1 - 06-23-2015 For the Operations Management 18 credits - 4 out of 6 of the classes can be done in about a month by doing CBE and Sophia / Penn Foster self study options. Introduction to Operations Management: Operations Management TECEP (CBE) Total Quality Management or Quality Assurance: Total Quality Management (online course) Project Management: Sophia Course (can be completed in 2 days) Supply Chain Management: Penn Foster (1 week plus mail time for final) Management Information Systems: DSST (CBE) Logistics: (online course) Logistics and TQM can be taken together - all the work is easily doable in 2 months - I took 2 months and a week cause I had A LOT of fun with the TQM final project. But I'm a huge geek, so there's that. 3 months to bang out 6 classes/18 credits is not too shabby. And the OM specialization requires a GPA so I guess it's not too big a deal that TQM and Logistics can't be done by CBE - they satisfy the GPA requirement. What is CBE ![]() Please help arrange my BSBA in Operations Management from TESC - Prloko - 06-24-2015 learning, CBE=Credit By Exam passit, I didn't know MIS counted towards OM, good to know. When you did TQM, you did it with TESC? How where you able to complete in less than 12 weeks, did you do GS? |
