Parentheses or Underlining when citing in College Comp Essay - TTTTT - 05-12-2015

I was reading through the sample essays in my 2015 CLEP study guide and I noticed that in an essay(scored a 6), an article has parentheses around its title but a book doesn't have anything. Online, I found When to Put Titles in Quotation Marks - For Dummies that says articles, essays, websites, etc. need parentheses but books and other sources need to be italicized or underlined.

So I guess my questions is, will I need to italicize and underline sources in my essay? and how will I do this? I watched the CLEP test prep video(https://clep.collegeboard.org/clep-tutorial-testing-platform) but in the video, I never saw the option.

Thanks.

I'm interested in this too because I thought that the text box you type in was in plain text without any font features.
