New Options For Excelsior Natural Science and Math Requirements - islandcoli - 02-19-2015

I just received an E-mail from TorahCollegeCredits/Coopersmith informing me they are adding/or are in the process of adding soon some new clases.

Here are the applicable portions of the Email:

Quote:We have recently posted new exams for Earth Science and Biology which meet the 6 credit natural science requirement for Excelsior, along with Geometry and Algerbra which meet the 3 credit math requirement.

Also

Quote:We have also posted 3 new Psycholgy courses

These are self-study courses with proctored final Exam via Straighterline.

When I took Information Literacy through them, it was like a mix between CLEP and Straighterline; meaning nothing but a final exam like CLEP, but proctored at home with ProctorU like straighterline.

I already have all my requirements in those area, but I figured I'd post the email so others can keep their options open.

You know, BigPoppa, it makes a very poor first impression for you to hate on someone for typing mistakes when they are providing such helpful information. This is a supportive community of people who are trying to help each other with their educational goals. If you are making those sorts of comments, perhaps this is not the place for you.

Actually, those mistakes were in the email TCC sent. But I figure KayV's comment could apply in this case, too. Smile

TCC looks like a very good deal even with the ProctorU fee.

@ Islandcoli, Are the final exams open book (like Straighliner)? Can you give more details of the course, any quizzes and the final exam. Greatly appreciate, thanks

I've only taken info lit so keep that in mind.

I registered, they sent me a pdf study guide - everything on the test was on the PDF they provided, so that was nice. There was also a one hour video.

There were not quizzes, that why I related it to a CLEP or DSST; you are prepping the whole time for one test. However, I don't know if every offering is this way.

The final was graded within 24 hours and I received a letter graded. Unfortunately it wasn't transcribed as a letter at Excelsior.

The Info Lit saved me close to $300 and I highly recommend it.
