Challenging task looking for certain GRADUATE level credits. - islandcoli - 02-15-2015 Hello all, I can't believe that I'm actually at a point that I'm talking Masters degrees! Less than 12 months ago I was just a GED holder, I owe a ton to this community! Although 3-4 months away, I'd like to start trying to face a challenge I'm facing in my upcoming program. The graduate program I am strongly leaning towards (Amberton) allows a generous amount of transfer credits and I need to find sources of Masters Level ECONOMICS prefix classes. Ideally, since I've become educationally frugal - the classes will be one of the two:1. Self Paced (I'm making an assumption Amberton allows this) 2. Reasonably Priced The "usual suspects" (LSU Online, UNIVERSITY OF ARKANSAS) seem to only have undergrad level econ courses or none at all. I've also searched "self paced graduate level credits" on Google and hit up the schools that came up on the first page looking for Econ classes, no dice. The reason for this is that I reside in an area where the two major industries are education and healthcare. There are a large amount of private schools near me that allow a person without a teaching degree to teach high school assuming he/she has a masters and enough credits in a "high need" subject. Econ is one of those "high need" concentrations. This will allow me to hedge risk against being unemployed in business for a small-ish investment and hassle of finding these courses. Since Amberton has one Econ class already, I only need to find 3 more classes (9 credits). I will then have to, per Amberton's policy, see if they will allow the classes I find to transfer. So it may be an uphill battle, but I think it will be beneficially in the long run. Thanks in advance for any and all help. Challenging task looking for certain GRADUATE level credits. - KayV - 02-15-2015 Eastern New Mexico University offers ECON graduate-level hours as part of their online MBA program. If you take 6 or fewer credits per term, the cost is $221.26 per hour. Granted, that's spendy compared to a CLEP test, but it's the best I've seen so far. Online Master of Business Administration ENMU Graduate School They have ECON 525 Managerial Economics, ECON 579 Individual Research, and ECON 593 Topics in Economics. The second may be taken twice, and the third sounds like a class that gets offered every semester whose topic changes (I have several Special Topics in _____ on my master's transcript). KayV Wrote:They have ECON 525 Managerial EconomicsOf course this is the class Amberton offers so I'm sure I cant duplicate it. But KayV Wrote:ECON 579 Individual Research, and ECON 593 Topics in Economics.I'll have to keep an eye on these and see if they allow non-MBA students to take these (one says pre-req: Entrance to MBA); as well as if Amberton will approve them. Much appreciated!
