Is it possible to use Straighterline (or Aleks) College Algebra for the "College Level Math Course" requirement and the CLEP College Mathematics for "Electives in Intellectual and Practical Skills"? Or does an Algebra course duplicate with the College Math course? (talking about Gen Ed requirements at TESC) Thanks!

Yes, it's definitely possible. ALEKS Intermediate Algebra is MAT-115, College Algebra is MAT-121, Precalculus is MAT-129 (if you're taking an ALEKS course anyway and have time left). CLEP College Math is MAT-102/103, TECEP Applied Liberal Arts Math is MAT-105, and DSST Business Math is BUS-161. None of those duplicate.
They are all in the IPS section. I think most of these also count as a college-level math course for most of the degree plans, but I could be wrong on that. Someone else here may be better able to help with that part.

Ok, I hadn't thought of it that way. I was thinking in terms of what they would accept as far as content, since Algebra is on the college math test. But what you're saying makes sense. It always just seemed to me that you'd take College Math because you weren't able to do algebra too well. I never thought of someone taking both.

If you're good at math, and have a lot of space in your plan to put the credits, I would take math courses. But that's because I feel like once you're studying for a test, it's nice to study a little broader and get as many exams/courses out of the way as possible.
And with ALEKS, once you've paid the $20, you might as well get as many credits as possible. If you can get more than one course completed before your month is up, definitely do that - you've got nothing to lose. (I'm thinking that SL would be almost the same).
Another bonus - the College Math exam is worth 6 units!
