In what order should I take these Biology Courses? (No testing out)ð - mcorye91 - 01-11-2015 Guys I mainly want to know the difficult level of the courses I mentioned my heart is set on a Biology degree. In what order should I take these Biology Courses? (No testing out)ð - sanantone - 01-11-2015 Excelsior does not have a BS in Biology. I can't remember if they did, but they now only have a BS in Natural Science with a concentration in Biology. That's why you don't have the typical organic chemistry requirements. In what order should I take these Biology Courses? (No testing out)ð - KayV - 01-11-2015 You have an LPN, don't you? Charter Oak offers a BS in Health Studies that might be a good choice for you, because they will give you 16 hours of credit for your LPN. Excelsior will give you some credits as well if you major in Health Sciences or Health Care Admin, but unfortunately those majors require several "un-testable" classes, which costs $$$$$. If you have your heart set on Excelsior, maybe a BSLA with depths in Biology and Psychology? A TESC major in Natural Science and Mathematics might be a good choice for you too. TESC won't give you credit for your LPN, but the only class you would have to take from TESC would be the Capstone. Here's what a BS in Health Studies might look like for you from COSC: Charter Oak State College Bachelor of Science in General Studies Health Studies Concentration I. That would make sense why they lady was weird and confusing on the phone. Recently I read that excelsior leaves the word major out in the general info pages and uses the word concentration. I can't remember exactly something but it was something about not distracting prospective students or something😓 In what order should I take these Biology Courses? The major for this degree is natural science; the concentration is biology. It's not a true biology degree. If you aren't going to earn a true biology degree, then you might as well choose something that is more flexible. In what order should I take these Biology Courses? (No testing out)ð - ajs1976 - 01-11-2015 What courses did you mention? Long, long ago when I was chemistry major I had a lot of classes with Bio majors. they seemed to complain the most about Organic Chem I & II, Micro, Biochem, and A&P I & II. All Bio majors had to take Organic Chem I & II. Micro Bio concentration had to take Micro and Biochem. pre-med had to take A&P I & II. In what order should I take these Biology Courses? Officially don't know what to do anymore as I was planning to obtain a Bio degree mainly for applying to CRNA programs who like RD ' with chem, bio and physics majors . Do any of the Big 3s award BIO degrees? In what order should I take these Biology Courses? (No testing out)ð - sanantone - 01-11-2015 mcorye91 Wrote:Well there goes my dream. Right after I wrote that I remembered your degree plan. It seems tough though I don't think I could complete it in 1.5-2 years like Excelsiors natural science :/ if it will take more than 2 years it will be a waste as I could complete Excelsiors LPN-bsn program in 2.5,3 years rather than take 3 years for a Bio degree> accelerated bsn program> crna program. I considered completely testing out of General management degree because I see people have done it in 6 months but I'm so afraid I won't be accepted into an accelerated bsn program with a degree like that :/. Even if I could take some classes for a gpa the degree bores me I may not do well For now I guess I will aim for the natural science degree.. |
