World Religions DSST - cmskii - 12-14-2014
Hey there! Anyone take the Intro to World Religions test recently or in the past? My test date is Jan 16, and I have been really nervous about taking it. If I don't pass, I don't get to graduate in time (and this would devastate me since I've been working so hard!)
I plan on using Instant cert & some study guides online. A classmate will lend me a book he used (he passed with a 408, which also makes me nervous since he's very knowledgeable).
Any tips, advice, experiences??

Also this will be my first DSST, I have 2 CLEP exams to take as well.

I took the test in the past and used the "Complete Idiot's Guide to World Religions". It was a fast read and covered everything I needed to pass. Check out the " Official Guide to Mastering DSST Exams (part 2)". It has a chapter on world religions which looks like it would help a lot to pass. Good luck with the test.

I just took the World Religions test Monday March 2nd and scored a 425. Instant Cert is all you need, and if you really want to save some time like I did, only study Christianity(18% of the test), Islam(16% of the test), and Judaism(also 16% of the test). Those three make up 50% of the test. You only need 46% to pass World Religions according to DSST scoring sheet. I would have wasted a lot of time trying to memorize Hinduism, Buddhism, Confucianism, and Taoism, all four combined only make up 30% of the test and they were just to confusing and similar, for me anyway. If you feel like you want to study more, you can skim over Hinduism and Buddhism (10% for each). Don't waste your time with the rest.

I'll second that InstantCert is enough to pass, although I wouldn't recommend skipping any sections altogether (even going over them once can give you keywords and clues that can help you on a multiple choice exam, even if you don't spend enough time on it to learn the material thoroughly).
