InstaCert CLEP with Learning Disabilities - US History & College Algebra - Catnip24601 - 10-25-2014 I just wanted to share that InstantCert for US History and College Algebra did not prove successful for my 19 y/o homeschooled daughter who has learning disabilities. We read so many of the forums and tips for the tests, but there was just way too much memorization, and too much information on each topic. She spent months studying, and used the Peterson's US history practice test, and still failed the CLEP with a 54, after studying for 1-2hrs per day for 4 months. And we covered US History in high school. For the College Algebra, there were similar problems. She failed. And yes, she did get extra time, as per college board. So I just want people who have LDs, working memory, visual memory, slow processing, visual processing, issues, the CLEP tests are not as easy as it sounds on these boards. She is doing much, much better at a CC, where there is a professor, weekly assignments, and not as much cumulative memorization. InstaCert CLEP with Learning Disabilities - US History & College Algebra - bricabrac - 10-25-2014 Is there a certain score for passing at her school? 50 is actually the norm passing score for the history clep so she passed by 4pts. |
