Frederick, FEMA AND Thomas Edison - mdel210201 - 10-15-2014 This may have been answered already so I apologize if it has. But, I already transferred over my fema credits with Frederick years ago and was wondering if TESC would except them that way? Or are they not excepting them in any form what so ever. Thnx Frederick, FEMA AND Thomas Edison - cookderosa - 10-16-2014 mdel210201 Wrote:This may have been answered already so I apologize if it has. They will evaluate them from the source (FEMA) and they'll be denied. Third party evaluations (credit laundering) don't work. Sorry. P.S. if you have a lot of FEMA, Charter Oak still accepts it! I think Rebel posted that they accept 30 credits worth. Hope that helps. Frederick, FEMA AND Thomas Edison - SweetSecret - 10-17-2014 I think this may actually have to do with when you completed the FEMA courses. I received my letter of acceptance on the day that the notice went out about FEMA no longer being accepted, and mine were accepted. Based on what I wrote on here, GMT (a member here) applied for TESC in July and also had old FEMA credits accepted. I think what TESC might actually be getting at is that you had to complete the FEMA courses before the date that the notice went out. That or they are just being nice to some of us... I think I only read half the initial question lol, but the date of FEMA completion will matter. I'm like the queen of terrible luck, but good intuition. I have very bad luck, yet good enough intuition to prepare myself for the bad situations as much as one can. To clarify about the FEMA courses, all of mine were taken before December 2013. My heart dropped when everyone was saying the FEMAs were no longer accepted at TESC in March 2014. SweetSecret got her FEMAs accepted around the date of "cancellation" and there was a another question mark about applicants before June 2014. I saw the applicant comment, it was the middle of June .... my application to TESC was on it's way an hour later and the FEMA transcript was sent for immediately after that. Tick tock, tick tock .... it was a long couple of weeks, but the FEMAs were accepted Whether I slipped under a wire, I don't know. It's very possible. I didn't hear until July that the FEMAs were applied which meant the June application "possible" cut off was long gone ... that's if there was one ?? I felt lucky but slightly awkward after all the chatter on here about no FEMAs being accepted after March 2014. Now, on my evaluation there is some information about FEMA courses: "RE: FEMA Independent Study Courses: You have received credit for FEMA courses completed prior to 3/5/14. However, please note that as of 3/5/14, Thomas Edison State College no longer accepts FEMA Independent Study courses in transfer. Not all FEMA courses had been reviewed by TESC for credit; therefore only those that were reviewed have been added to the evaluation. For students who do not enroll, all FEMA coursework will be removed from the evaluation." Obviously I enrolled as fast as I could figure out how I don't know how to advise on this matter, I think SweetSecret has a good point, and the cut off for acceptance could be down to the date you took the FEMAs. That's certainly how I read the comment from my eval. Emailing TESC won't necessarily get you a good response as you may not get someone who really knows. I know from experience. If you're set on TESC then it could be 50/50 that they'll be accepted ... you would be the trailblazer on this Frederick, FEMA AND Thomas Edison - Gooberman11 - 10-27-2014 My sister had finished all her FEMA's many months before the cutoff, but had not enrolled at TESC by March. When she emailed to see if they would except them (since they were done before cutoff) TESC said they would not accept any FEMAS even previously completed. So, I think you guys got lucky by enrolling as fast as possible. Maybe TESC would have accepted them if my sister had enrolled instead of asking through email.... I emailed too and was told no, but they turned up on my transcript after I applied .... I've just asked Lemurian_Spirit in another thread about my theory as she is planning on another BA and I'm noticing FEMA courses on her eval ..... hmmmmm (tapping finger on lip) the answer will be interesting Frederick, FEMA AND Thomas Edison - ajs1976 - 10-28-2014 Does anyone know why they stopped accepting the FEMA courses? |
