DSST Technical Writing Reviews - smf6824 - 10-07-2014 DOD Libraries and http://www.dantestestprep.com/free-study-guides-and-practice-tests/pdfs/DTP-Technical-Writing-Study-Guide-And-Practice-Test.pdf is what I used to study for this test. I realize that this isn't the hardest exam; however, they did change the scoring on the exam to the 400 score type and it "seems" as though the exam has changed from what it used to be. I can't say for certain since I didn't take the old exam, but the exam may not be as easy as it once was...... Just don't take it lightly because people say it is easy. Study and take a couple practice exams. Even though the test was not that difficult it did surprise myself a bit. Either way Good Luck and I hope the reference material helps. DSST Technical Writing Reviews - gradu81214 - 10-14-2014 I took this exam about 3 weeks ago and did not find it too difficult. My first question asked what a white paper was and I thought I was in trouble. There were a lot of questions on sentence structure, like put these 4 sentences in the best order and what word to use to join 2 sentences together (however, therefore, so...etc). I had a questions on memos, email etiquette and a couple on what kind of chart is best for what kind of data. A few on where you would put certain items when you are writing instructions. It wasn't terrible at all. Good luck! DSST Technical Writing Reviews - Togas - 10-28-2015 Old thread, but I feel this belongs here. How close to the real thing are the Official DSST practice tests ($5 on their website) to the real test? I understand the test went through an overhaul making the official DSST study guide and the peterson's test useless. Secondly, looking at the official DSST Technical writing thread. Comments with scores with 60, or say 400. Both of which imply two different scoring methods which are discussed on the DSST webpage. (My school lists a 46 as a passing grade requirement.) If I got a 75% on the practice test, what could I expect to see on the real test? If I got a 50%? How does the number of questions correct equate to the DSST score. |
