Are there any CC's that will allow registration with GPA below 2.0? - daelaria - 08-21-2014 Hello folks! I posted a few months back asking about how to pursue a degree with an unpaid balance at an institution. Since then, I have worked my tail off and paid off my balance and regained academic admission to that school. However, my GPA is awful - sitting at a 1.61. I've done the math and it would take 12 credit hours at a 4.0 to raise this to a 2.0, which would allow transfer to most state schools. I was told by the admissions office I could take those credit hours at another school and transfer them in to allow my GPA to rise up while still being able to receive FA (right now I am terminated from FA for obvious reasons). Now, I'm willing to pay out of pocket at my school to slowly raise my GPA, taking 6 credit hours a semester. That, however, is going to take at least two semesters to raise my GPA to a transferrable level. My question is - is anyone aware of a distance CC program that will allow me to enroll with my current 30 credits and crappy GPA? I've been looking for this through google, but must not be asking the right question because it keeps popping up with transfer requirements for various schools instead of a targeted discussion or list. I'd been thinking of applying to Clovis to knock out the rest of my GE req's since they offer the option of 8 week courses. Thoughts, insight, advice? Oh, and one more question - I am only considering transfer because I am having a difficult time figuring out if there are any degree plans that would comfortably fit my 30 credits in and still be tailored to my interests...since it is my first degree, I do need to place myself into a somewhat marketable major...and I'm not sure a lib arts degree can lead anywhere. All credits are transferred in as CR, which will help your GPA as far as just getting a good GPA from your bachelor's degree. There have been a few threads recently about GPA and TESC with regard to graduate school admission if you are interested. |
