Hello, I am in dire need of some Aleks advice, I need to finish Algebra via Aleks. I cannot get pass 67 or 68 % completion. I have completed multiple Cleps, DSST, and Excelsior exams, but I cannot finish this Aleks Algebra. Can someone please offer any tips on how I can finish, or resources? I would really like to start at WGU really soon and Aleks is stumping me.

When I started Aleks, College Algebra kicked my butt. I spent more time frustrated than learning. I had to drop back to Elementary Algebra and start a little slower. Things moved much better when I wasn't pushing so hard.

List the questions you are having the most problems with. Go to one of my fav websites interactmath.com (steps below):

College Algebra by Robert Blitzer
interactmath.com: Blizter. College Algebra 4/e, 6/e
companion website: 3/e (free access)
Equations, Inequalities, and Mathematical Models

Algebra & Trigonometry by Robert Blitzer
interactmath.com: Blitzer. Algebra & Trigonometry 4/e, 5/e
companion website: 2/e (free access)
Equations, Inequalities, and Mathematical Models

InterActMath.com
In the drop down box, scroll to - author and text (I tend to use the current ed)

Click on whatever chapter you need extra help. Within each practice problem you have the option to have the software teach you the steps.
  • For each problem you don't know how to solve, look to right there is an icon with a key 'help me solve this'
  • When you click on it another window opens and the software will go through each step by clicking the yellow continue button at the bottom.of the window.
  • There is also a print icon.

There are many math sites you can use, here are a few additional sites on my go to list:

Does WGU accept ALEKS?

I suggest printing out the problem types that you can't do from memory. Keeping a notebook of those types (plus several worked problems) will help you on your next assessment.

One trick I used when completing my intermediate algebra with Aleks was to use two windows/browsers. In one window I had my student account open and in the other I had my primary account open. Then in the primary account window I could go to the list of problems I need to learn and click on the explanations while working on the assessment in the other window. So if during the assessment if I ran into a problem I forgot how to solve or a new problem I didn't learn yet I could easily pull up the explanation and refresh my memory.

Awesome tip! cheersmate

I never considered investigating the master account; only used it to reset assessments.

I saved a lot of the problem explanations as pdf files to study. Hit print and change destination print setting to 'save as pdf'
