Anyone know of an ACE approved online meteorology course, or from an accredited independent study program. Thanks for the info on MSU.

Does it need to be in meteorology or can it be in weather? There is a Uexcel for Weather and Climate.

TESC:
Quote:Bringing together geography, chemistry, physics and other scientific disciplines, the course will cover topics including meteorological elements, air masses, synoptic, regional and local scale weather systems; severe weather; meteorological observation, instrumentation and forecasting; aviation weather; agricultural meteorology; and air pollution, global warming, climate change and renewable energy applications.

I always forget about the ECE's. think it will fit?

Which degree program are you looking at? This is the description for the Uexcel.

Quote:The exam measures knowledge, understanding, and practical application of material typically taught in a lower-level undergraduate course in Weather and Climate. The content is drawn from that commonly included in courses with such titles as Introduction to Atmospheric Science, Introduction to Weather and Climate, or Introduction to Meteorology. The exam tests for comprehension of college-level meteorology and atmospheric science skills and concepts. It measures knowledge and understanding of the following major themes: observing, analyzing, describing, and diagramming the basics of major atmospheric processes including energy, pressure, wind, precipitation, air masses, fronts, storm systems; basic climate and weather patterns; and understanding the physical processes and mechanisms underlying weather and climate behaviors and phenomena.

Mississippi State University is the name in DL meteorology education. One might see if they could sign up to take their GR 1603 Intro to Meteorology alone. (It lists a prerequisite of Physical Geography; this might be a soft prerequisite especially for students not pursuing an MS State degree or certificate.)

It's for an Environmental Studies degree, but the class needs to be transcribed specifically as Intro to Meterology for a work requirement.

Excelsior College Wrote:General Description of the Examination

The UExcel exam in Weather & Climate measures knowledge, understanding, and practical application of material typically taught in a lower-level undergraduate course in Weather and Climate. The content is drawn from that commonly included in courses with such titles as Introduction to Atmospheric Science, Introduction to Weather and Climate, or Introduction to Meteorology.

The exam tests for comprehension of college-level meteorology and atmospheric science skills and concepts. Exam Content Guides (Excelsior College)

So in the second sentence of Excelsior's description they essentially say "this is our Introduction to Meterology." This should be something to work with if you pursued this with the work-requirement people.

If the UExcel one does not work, here's APU's Intro to Metereology ~ https://www.apu.apus.edu/login/Schedule/course/scin137
