They retired the academic program I applied for and suggested this instead but I don' - soliloquy - 07-18-2014 I don't understand what it means for me? Soliloquy, project management will no longer be an option area in the MSAS program; it is in the process of being removed. However if you would like to pursue this program you can complete it under our individualized option area. I have attached a template of courses you can take complete this program. If you would still like to do this then you need to email the grad admission office and simply change from project management to individualized and adopt the attached program of study. Let me know what you want to do. What will the difference be? I'm not eligible to take their Master of Science in Project Management because I don't have "project management industry experience." If I'm forced to take the individualized studies, I'm considering asking if he can come up with a program of study for legal administration. In addition, the program he sent me includes classes that aren't available online. Two of them are only available twice in the next three years but in the evening on campus only. Sigh... In other news, I haven't even been told by the graduate college that I'm accepted but it seems like I've already passed the program's requirements. Do you have any other schools you might be interested in? The warning bells keep going off with MSU. (I think I remember your saying something about Organizational Leadership at UArk, and there was another one...). Good luck in getting this resolved and finding a great program. You have come so far, so fast! They retired the academic program I applied for and suggested this instead but I don' - soliloquy - 07-19-2014 That is so depressing! I'm mad I just spent $120 sending transcripts there for a program that they later tell me doesn't exist. I guess I will start looking for another program. Actually, the degree is Master of Science in Administrative Studies. The Project Management was an option. Do they list options on the diploma? I'd love a Master's in Legal Administration program but they are all so expensive and there aren't many of them. They should also give me my application fee back. They retired the academic program I applied for and suggested this instead but I don' - sanantone - 07-19-2014 I recommended legal administration, and you told me to f^@% off. ![]() They retired the academic program I applied for and suggested this instead but I don' - soliloquy - 07-19-2014 First of all, I don't curse so I didn't tell you that and I am NEVER that rude. Second, you recommended it for undergrad and that was not something I was seeking for undergrad purposes. I wanted an undergrad program where I could use the available credits I had so I could avoid a lot of loans. I would have been at a strong disadvantage and would not be graduating in just two semesters had I followed your advice as it pertains to an undergrad program. A Master's degree program is an entirely different animal. I never ruled it out for that. But, as I've said. The cost was then and is now an issue. They retired the academic program I applied for and suggested this instead but I don' - sanantone - 07-19-2014 It was a joke. I didn't recommend legal administration for your undergrad. I recommended it as a masters program, and you told me that I was recommending unrelated degrees because you were interested in project management. Let me see if I can dig up that thread. Yes, dig away. I would still prefer project management. That's what I applied for. I'm sure as you saw below that I said I don't qualify for a Master of Science in Project Management programs (from schools who have the accreditation I would want in that type of program) because I don't have "industry" experience. Quote:Sanantone, you seem to want to just throw degree programs out there that really aren't comparable. For instance when I brought up legal project management you through out the idea of legal administration which is an entirely different subset of the legal field. A JD and criminal justice are only vaguely related. In fact, CJ wasn't even considered a specialty area of our Bar until a few years ago.http://www.degreeforum.net/general-education-testing-discussion/21627-concord-law-school-kaplan-2.html#post166564 By the way, I recommended paralegal studies. You first rejected that advice until you found out that COSC would give you credits for your certification. To say that if you would have followed my advice you would have been in school longer is a complete lie. You ended up choosing the degree program I recommended. Should I also dig up that thread? |
