Hi! New and need help! - raquelrene - 07-08-2014 So... I know y'all read these ALL the time, but I'm very confused about what to do and could use input. My goal is to complete a BA/BS as quickly as possible with the goal of entering UMUC Analytics MS program. Admission requires a grade of B or higher in one 200 level or higher course (in a variety of subjects), that I already have met. So at this point I'd just like to complete a degree in ANYTHING! I am able to enroll as a military spouse, but am unsure how I feel about the residency requirement at TESC and speed to complete 24 credits. I will need to use financial aid to help pay for courses and my plan would be to enroll in the least amount of courses possible, while completing straighterline/aleks/fema courses, because I'm not sure I can afford the enrollment fee AND SL/Exams, etc. I currently live paycheck to paycheck and support my family - so funds are limited. If I can have my degree completed by May, I will be eligible for promotions at work and that would help - A LOT!!!!! I'm VERY price sensitive, so while the $75/ea to have evaluations completed at COSC & TESC, seems high. I'd really prefer to pick the school that fits best and only pay once. That's two large boxes of diapers!!! Please help! Here's what I have completed: EC*330 XP40 Principles of Microeconomics AC*325 XP40 Acctg Princ & Mgmt Concepts MT*201 XP70 College Algebra RC*220B XP41 World Religious Traditions II CS*361 XP40 Control Structures CIS*418 XP40 Ethics for IT Professional CS*208 XP40 Computer Science Fundamentals EN*325 Research Writing Found of Language & Communicat Education Without Boundaries HS*214 Survey Western Civ Since 1600 Personal Wellness Social Problems PY*250 General Psychology Principles of Culture POL*215 Intro to US National Politics Succeeding in College HS*213 Survey of Western Civ to 1600 Survey of Art History Latin American Culture CS*206 Business Software Applications BA*250 Introduction to Business EN*203 Intermediate Composition SO*200 Introduction to Sociology Professional Communication Business Presentations Business Math Hi! New and need help! - sanantone - 07-08-2014 I'm too lazy to look to see what qualifies as in residence under the military plan, but under the Per Credit Tuition Plan, the residency requirement can be met with TECEPs and portfolio assessments as well as courses. There is no enrollment fee under this plan. TECEPs are little over $100 while portfolio assessments are $363 for the first 12 credits and $206 for every 6 credits thereafter. You don't need to take any course at TESC for their BSBA degrees. You don't even need to take the Strategic Management capstone as a TESC course. You can take the TECEP or transfer it in from Penn Foster or somewhere else. I'm going to link to my test out plan for the BSBA in General Management and a plan I made using the Per Credit Tuition Plan. The fees are a little higher now, but the concept is still the same. New and need help! - KayV - 07-09-2014 1. Do you happen to have English Comp I and II somewhere, since it looks like you started with Intermediate Comp? Maybe from AP credits? 2. Are any of your credits from a cc, or are they all university level? 3. Are any of your classes more or less than 3 semester credit hours? 4. What are the prefixes and course numbers for the classes you listed that are missing (BUS, COM, SPAN, MAT, etc)? Thanks! Hi! New and need help! - KayV - 07-10-2014 Here's a go at a TESC BA in Liberal Studies, since you just want to graduate as quickly as possible. For the cheapest price, you will need to take 7 TECEPs and the Capstone, which means that you could replace two of the nine courses you still need with Kaplan PLA, ALEKS, TEEX, etc., as indicated.
