Financial Management 101:Penn Foster = TESC Principles of Finance FIN-301??? - JJ65 - 04-20-2014 Can anyone confirm that the class "Financial Management 101" at Penn Foster will transfer to TESC as Principles of Finance FIN-301? I believe this to be true but would like confirmation. Also, anyone that has taken the PF class can you elaborate on it? The Syllabus shows 5 lessons each with and examination. And a final examination. None state a proctored final is needed. I am considering pulling the trigger on this in the next day or so. thanks, Financial Management 101:Penn Foster = TESC Principles of Finance FIN-301??? - mrs.b - 04-20-2014 Yes, it is the equivalent, or was as of two years ago when I used it to fill the same course. None of the exams were proctored. It was a great course with an efficient design. Well worth the extra cash above the DSST option, in my opinion. Financial Management 101:Penn Foster = TESC Principles of Finance FIN-301??? - pughsss - 04-21-2014 Yes it is equivalent. I finished it in March 2014 along with Strategic Business Management, International Business, and Introduction to Computing. I sent my ACE transcript which also included ALEKS and TEEX courses also to TESC about 10 days ago. So I am waiting for the courses to show up on my evaluation any day now. Financial Management 101:Penn Foster = TESC Principles of Finance FIN-301??? - Saharapost - 04-21-2014 Hi, I am about to register for PF's Financial Mgt. Please could you explain how you went about completing registration for the individual courses as I learned it is not as easy as enrolling for other PF courses. Thanks pughsss Wrote:Yes it is equivalent. I finished it in March 2014 along with Strategic Business Management, International Business, and Introduction to Computing. Financial Management 101:Penn Foster = TESC Principles of Finance FIN-301??? - bricabrac - 04-21-2014 As an FYI, there is an online registration available for US and certain military locations. Unfortunately on the international site there doesn't seem to be a place to purchase individual courses. As an international student, I would call 1-800-233-0259 customer service of the workforce development division to register. Be sure they read back your exact mailing address, as the folks sometimes make mistakes. Also, this may have been something new they were doing at the time I took the course, but if they ask if you want to purchase a transcript for $10, say no. I found it was free when ordered from your student account after you've complete the course.* Although it only takes a few days to have access to the student account online, which includes an electronic vers of the student guide, it takes awhile for the textbook kit to arrive. (When I took the course it included the textbook, student guide, and financial calculator.) You will have plenty of time to complete the couse. Ask if they would expedite textbook delivery. On the international site it states they use DHL to ship internationally, materials should arrive within 10 days of course enrollment. Good luck, as mentioned prior it was an enjoyable course! * Sorry I should have been more clear - PF courses need to be sent to your ACE account for TESC to accept them (same process as ALEKS, SL,etc.). Proactively, I also requested two PF transcripts sent to myself to be used later if needed. Graduate schools request originating credit transcripts. Thanks When I contacted Penn Foster they gave me this phone number to register for courses that were not part of their online registration, 1 800-572-1714. I plan on taking Strategic Management through Penn Foster but I have not registered yet so I can't give info as to the process. Financial Management 101:Penn Foster = TESC Principles of Finance FIN-301??? - punchyfacey - 05-18-2014 Hey Zen, What's involved in the consumer behavior class? Is there a proctored final? I have 6 courses remaining and just signed up for finance and strategic management. Based on the ease of financial management I'm pretty interested in taking another one or two PF courses if I can fit them in to my plan. Financial Management 101:Penn Foster = TESC Principles of Finance FIN-301??? - zenurez - 05-18-2014 I'm glad to hear about the Financial Management course, I just signed up for it and the book should be here in about a week :-) Unfortunately, the link to the course study guide seems to be broken in my account, so hopefully that will get fixed soon. I am about one paper away from completing strategic management. I was supposed to do a third webinar but since it is 2 weeks away due to Memorial day weekend, I can write a 2 page paper instead.:hurray: Consumer Behavior had a nice little book, with an excellent index, which reminded me a lot of Principles of Marketing concepts, but with a bit more detail. According to a previous post on this forum it will transfer to TESC as a 300 level course. There are three non-proctored exams, three short discussions where you basically state your opinion, one paper and one proctored final exam. The final exam has to be mailed to a proctor and then mailed back. Anyone with at least an associates degree who is not related to you can be your proctor. Unfortunately the proctor application form is impossible to find on the website and I had to request it specifically. (I imagine you probably already know all this, but there may be some newbies out there who will appreciate the information). It has been about 5 business days since the form was faxed and my proctor still has not received the test. I will talk to PF tomorrow. Once I complete the test and receive a grade on my paper I should hopefully be done. I really enjoyed this course and would definitely recommend it.
