I am looking at lots of options for graduate or professional school, and in my search I came across Norwich University in Vermont. I'd heard it mentioned before on this forum, but I didn't seriously look at what they had to offer before.

I like their M.A. in Diplomacy program. But I also like the mainly distance learning format and that this degree program does not require a thesis. They also have an MBA and MPA program that looks top notch.

Has anyone here graduated from Norwich? How was it?

My question is, why? Norwich University is ranked in the bottom 25% for public affairs. That means its rank is not published by U.S. News. If I'm going to attend a low-ranked or unranked program, it has to be cheap. Valdosta State University is much cheaper, and they're NASPAA-accredited. Norwich University doesn't have this.

Public policy degrees are sort of halfway between political science and public administration degrees. It teaches quantitative and management skills. Norwich's diplomacy program is really just an international relations program. It has some management and economics/commerce courses, but they aren't geared toward domestic policy making.

I'm going to post these links to Norwich's MPA and UMass - Dartmouth's MPP so that you can compare the two. The MPA is almost exactly like the MBA with less quantitative stuff. Those degrees don't really cover much about policy making.
