Hello there Smile

I am currently studying for my first CLEP test (Information Systems and Computer Applications) and I bought the Peterson's Practice Test set online. After completing them, I got a 63, 66, and a 67. I am confused though. For Peterson's, its percentage scores (63 out of 100, 66 out of 100, etc.) but for the CLEP it is 80 points. How do I convert my scores that I got on my practice tests to see how I would score on the actual CLEP?

We do not know exactly how CLEP scores are calculated. But it is generally advised that scores of about 60 percent or more on practice tests let you know you have sufficient knowledge to pass the CLEP. I like to be scoring 65% or more on most of my practice tests. Your scores are right around 65%, which is pretty good. My suggestion would be to review the practice tests taken and study some more, then take the PT in the Official CLEP Study Guide, and if you get more than 65% on that, take the CLEP.

One note: I have found Petersons in general to be harder than the actual CLEP, and so have sometimes tested with lower Petersons scores. Someone with direct experience with this CLEP could provide more info on how the Petersons correlate with the real test.

I used Peterson's practice tests to assess my readiness for some CLEP tests. I found the College Mathematics practice tests to be a waste of time because they did not accurately represent the real test. For chemistry, they were about the same difficulty as the real test. For biology, they were harder.

The Petersons do seem to be slightly harder so if you are getting 65 and above on those then you are probably going to be fine. For this test if you are already computer savvy you should have no problem.
