Analyzing and Interpreting Literature??? - CLEP_GAMB1T - 03-18-2014 Does anyone know if the, "Analyzing and Interpreting Literature" CLEP exam has flashcards for studying? I don't see it listed and I'm curious if maybe it's listed under another name or if the flashcards for that CLEP exam are divided amongst the other literature flashcards? Any knowledge that anyone has in regards to that CLEP exam would be much appreciated. I still needed this subscription for Humanities, but I would like to use it for "Analyzing and Interpreting Literature" as well. Thanks in advance! Since the majority of the exam is reading passages and responding to questions, flashcards won't help much and InstantCert doesn't have that exam in their system. When I took the exam I used the CLEP study guide for it and found free-clep-prep.com to be of some assistance as well. You can definitely check out CLEP's website information for that exam (Analyzing and Interpreting Literature | CLEP) and use the search tool on this site to find out more if you need to. Analyzing and Interpreting Literature??? - justlookin - 05-01-2014 Took Analyzing and Interpreting Literature for the third time and finally passed. (49-47-51) I don't post much here, but have read countless post on this subject, and give credit to those who scored upper 60's and 70's because this CLEP was challenging. So, I will give some comments from my experience on what I did. Like others have posted, It is not much you can do to study for this test, HOWEVER this is what I did. - Bought Analyzing and Interpreting Literature from REA There was not a single passage in the REA book that was on my test, but what the book DID do for me was get my reading pattern adjusted to the "type" of passages you will see on the CLEP. It also trained me to focus more on what is being said/relayed in the passage. Also, even though you might not know the answer to a particular question, it may be answered in a later question in that section. Taking the practice test in the REA book (which there are three test, with answers AND rationale) gets you in a pattern of being able to eliminate answer so it can narrow your choices down to the point your percent of getting it correct increases. One thing I noticed on today's test was there were A LOT of Rhetorical Terms that I did not know and some I did, like; -Alliteration -Anastrophe -Apostrophe -Allegory -Catachresis -Hyperbole -Epic Simile -Irony -Metaphor -Paradox -Simile -Synesis That is about all I can remember, but there were more, so DEFINITELY look over these types of terms. I finished with around 25 minutes left, so I had plenty of time to go back and RE-read the passages that I had marked and "check" by if I wasn't confident with the answer. Yes I did change some answers, even though you are not supposed to. I had the same feeling after today's test was over from the previous ones, but this time I did not drive home disappointed. Good Luck to those who are going to take this CLEP..... Analyzing and Interpreting Literature??? - bldgengineer - 05-02-2014 I'm still struggling with the idea of signing up for this test just because of justlookin's experience. This subject is definitely a weak area for me which is why I want it to be my first test. Congrats justlookin and thanks for the information. Can I ask how long you prepared this time for the test and were there any other resources you used besides REA? I want to sign up to force myself to take the test but I want to know how far ahead I should schedule it Analyzing and Interpreting Literature??? - sanantone - 05-02-2014 Instantcert now has flashcards for this exam. I don't know why. I wish they would have created a set for an exam that actually requires a lot of study. Analyzing and Interpreting Literature??? - Leebo - 05-02-2014 Literally did not prepare for this exam for a single minute. Got a 72. |
