It's Finally Done! - corpsole2 - 12-21-2013 Guys, I've waited a long time for this post, so I'm going to savor it. I got the last score back from my TESC capstone, and I got an A on the course. It preserves my final graduation GPA of 4.0! But the most important news is: I'm done! After years and years of scheming, dreaming, and talking about it, I now have the credits for the Bachelor of Arts degree. I am so proud of myself I could burst. Thanks to all here who have been there in the dark days. I remember very recently we had quite a few with me as I wasn't sure I'd pass the DSST tests, and when I was almost certain I'd fail the capstone. But, with your help and that of Providence I'm through the looking glass, and Wonderland is great! I started the year with 54 credits, and a vague idea that I wanted to finish the B.A. by year's end. But February turned into March, and the months kept creeping up, the goal seemed less and less doable. But even as I was taking the course War and American Society at a leisurely pace, I was furiously churning through FEMA and Straighterline courses to get as many done as I could. So, by the time I was awarded my Associate's degree in September, I had nearly 105 credits done. The rest I have done since August. So the completion of all my degree requirements is a big Christmas present to myself. :-) I am thankful to only have $6000 in student loans, as it won't be much of a financial burden on me. I am thankful that my degree only cost me $11,000. I am grateful for the skills and the confidence earning this degree has instilled in me. It showed me how I could make a long term plan, create a viable strategy to fulfill that plan, and not give up until it is completed. Nothing's definite until I get the graduation letter, but I am very certain that champagne is in order. :-) So thanks again, and Merry Christmas. I'll be around.
